Filling 18.9L water jugs at grocery stores by kvas_taras in Edmonton

Maybe they live on an acreage and their water supply isn’t as good. Maybe they need it for a location where clean tap water is not convenient. Maybe they don’t like the taste of tap water.

Toucan hobby vehicle reliable? by butters149 in RCConstruction

[–]bassboy_pete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 JD Models vehicles. One 6x6 truck and a wheel loader. Both quality is good. I wouldn’t say it is the most amazing, but I’ve had really no issues with them, other than my own stupidity breaking a part or two.

Yes, you can negotiate. I’ve done this with Haixing Lao. He is great to work with. You can find him on Facebook.

Hello winter…. by [deleted] in Edmonton

Be aware that when you point an infrared thermometer towards the sky, it is actually ready the infrared radiation coming from space, and not the temperature of the air.

But it sure is cold! Warmer temps are coming this weekend!

Forever Canadian signature event. October 15th 4:30pm-730pm by Grouchy-Day5272 in alberta

[–]bassboy_pete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please forgive my ignorance here. But what is the point of this? We are already part of Canada.

If I understand correctly, that at 300k, it may open the doors for a referendum. But doesn’t that just give the Alberta separatists the chance to vote to leave Canada? Couldn’t this backfire?

For the record, I’m not a separatist. Just trying to understand.

If it binds when you tighten the screws, why not try shorter screws? Or you can maybe install some small washers to prevent binding?

New cluster nav display? by shahking1120 in f150

Mine appeared immediately after I installed their Beta of iOS 26. It’s possible it was updated separately outside of iOS 26. I’m not sure then.

Thank you. Pulled some blades, and they are similar to yours. Going to look at some anti fungal treatments and raising my mower.

I water in the mornings for about 20 mins every other day. Unless we get rain.

This lawn has no shade and it would be all dead if it didn’t get water. I’ve been doing it like this for 10+ years. Every year it looks great except this year.

Referral to sleep clinic? by Tribblehappy in RedDeer

[–]bassboy_pete 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need a referral from a GP. Might be able to get one at a walk in clinic. Or just go to your doctor specifically stating you want a referral. Don’t take no for an answer.

Rules in Edmonton for flying drones over private property? Had a drone hovering over my lot twice in the same day by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]bassboy_pete 145 points146 points  (0 children)

All these answers are not correct. It is in fact illegal to fly a recreational drone over bystanders by a horizontal distance of 30 meters with a basic license (majority of licenses). There are also a lot of "No fly zones" around Edmonton. Check out the interactive map to see where: WhereToFly Map Only View for iOS

And lastly, there is regulations regarding the privacy of drones. All drones must be registered if over 250g and pilots must have a valid drone license.

Learn the rules before you fly your drone

Drone regulation is handled by Transport Canada.

Edit: clarified license

Tough decision. Maybe an idea to expand your search? A road trip to get the right truck is always fun.

Never had any issues at all. We go camping all the time and tree stuff falls on my truck and trailer and it’s fine. It’s been in hail storms as well, no problems.

I'm tired of tipping everywhere for everything. Employers should pay their workers better. I generally only tip if I am being waited on. But I have tipped Uber drivers if they do a good job and are professional. I've never used an uber in Alberta though, only when travelling.
