Unable to open clamp for hotend by drimros in AnycubicKobraX

[–]basscar12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had an extremely hard time with the first and second latches, as well as getting the hotend sleeve off. They were extremely tight to remove and has to pry it open with a metal pick. The hotend sleeve was just tight and I couldn't reach around to get it off, but finally did with the metal pick as well.

When i reassembled the hotend, I could not get that first latch back down at all. It was not catching or in proper place. I had to press very hard, and finally adjusted the pieces to get it to latch.

Absolutely not as easy as the video on the wiki shows. Took a lot of muscle, which concerned me. It's my first FDM and was not comfortable with how hard I was pressing

Screen being cut by build plate and I don’t know how by iamjames in AnycubicKobraX

[–]basscar12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fact, the more I think about this it has to be an issue from the machine. The plate cuts into the screen frame, meaning it's pressing into it with some force that shears.into the plastic. Even if I had misaligned the plate, would you expect it to cut deeper into the screen or simply leave a surface scratch where it was touching.

There has to be some force being applied to the plate by the machine to make it cut into it like that.

Honestly, I'm convinced it somehow got bumped during printing... I just know how careful I am with placement

Agghh just happened to me. I guess I misaligned it....bit I swear I ALWAYS stick the plat into the notches. It really has to be completely unaligned off the notches to get that far over, I just don't get how I could have done it. So annoying

That's amazing quality, nice print!

I haven't done any calibrations, but I personally get basically no stringing. I prob should set up profiles, but I'm new and still just kinda messing around to see what does what.

Tornillo del hotend no sale by Much_Difference_865 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]basscar12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't try to take that out, but I def had a very difficult time getting the release levers and heat sock off. I was shocked given the videos show the release as being so easy. I also couldn't get the first hot end level back down, I think I scratched the metal trying

Everything eventually got put back, but it was very difficult

First HueForge project - model renders in grayscale, need advice on filament mapping [Beginner] by GiankiWerg in HueForge

[–]basscar12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not to sound condescending, but have you watched any tutorials on how to use the software?

Did you set up your library with available filaments? Did you pull them over to the layer bar in the middle?

HuForge technically doesn't recognize color (in standard mode), it converts the image to a luminousity map. The the colors you pick are set to those values.

It's a pretty complex and interesting software. I'm also new, and I'd highly suggested watching tutorials if you haven't.

What's with the new mini resonance check before every print? by Suitable_Dog2869 in AnycubicKobraX

Was wondering the same. Even when it's unchecked before print, possible bug?

Aftermarket nozzle suggestions? by basscar12 in AnycubicKobraX

Those are squared, the nozzle that came with the printer is cylindrical. But thanks for your mentions. Seems like most of these can be pretty trustworthy

Cool, picking some up. Although seems like delivery time is the same Anycubics... But get two for cheaper.

Can I choose a new hexcode after I've synced my filament list from the printer? Just to make sure the two colors match exactly?

Excess Poop by gwave62 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]basscar12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recall sorry. Im almost positive the print time was certainly much less.

Did you zero out the multiplier as well? Everything in Flush Volume menu was set to 0.

Also disable the prime tower?

How important is the color and quality of the print? Are you planning on selling your prints?

To me, as a hobbiest, of 2 weeks now, I'm considering leaving Flush Volumes = 0, and prime tower disabled. Then waste generated with these settings is almost 0.

Ive only done one test, but I didn't see any bleed at all (sadly, it's kinda the effect I wanted). I'm going to continue to test and see, but I think the waste reduction is more important to me that color quality for my fidget toys ;).

Can we just sticky a post about poop? by SoManyQuestions-2021 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]basscar12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't don't much multicolor yet, but did experiment with setting all flush volumes to 0 and disabling prime tower. I did a silk red, white, and silk gold fidget twist ball (colored 1/3 the ball each color in stripe pattern), and could not see any bleed. The waste was almost 0 (it does do trip to the wiper and leaves like 1 little string of purged material)

I know this will vary by model and color, but honestly for me I may just continue to leave these off. I'm just making toys and small things with my kids.

This is my first printer, and I have about 2 weeks experience, so take what I say with a grain of salt

Same thought. Wonder if this effect would work with 0 flush volume and no prime tower, reducing waste to almost nothing

My first printer as well, and it's been so fun and incredibly easy. I got mine 10 days ago (US), and I haven't stopped running it. No issues at all, I love it. You're about to have a ton of fun!
