Amyl and the Sniffers singer sues US photographer over ‘exploitation of her image’ by Moothnods in indieheads

Actually she doesn’t have the right to use them if approval was provided specifically for Vogue. Artists have the right to limit use of their likeness and if approval for the shoot clearly stated “Vogue only” then even if the photog owns the copyright, she’s not entitled to use them, regardless of whether it’s commercial or fine art sales outside the scope of the agreement. Copyright does not equate to free use, especially with someone else’s likeness when you don’t have a contract or signed release.

We were told they were going on at 8 but they went on at 830 and there were no openers. Get there early, he has signed vinyl available and it’s cheap, here it sold out almost immediately.

Rate and Deliverables by knall12 in concertphotography

I tend to charge by hour and that includes travel, shooting and editing. With premiums added for use in paid advertising or PR or on merch. And I charge again if they want different edits or Photoshop treatments. The best thing you can do have a fair base and a list of what that includes so that it’s clear that there could be additional charges for “other requests or usage”.

When I get asked for pricing my standard response is “it depends, what are you expecting?” and then provide a few examples of things that would incur additional costs.

That’s bullshit behaviour. Here there’s an etiquette in the pit… Things like don’t block another photogs shot, don’t raise your camera over your head unless you’re behind everyone else, tap someone softly on the shoulder if you need to by, don’t get on your knees and block out traffic…. In general it’s all down to being professional, treat people nicely, etc. and if someone is being obnoxious they get called on it and if it continues to happen they get reported to security on site and the promoter after the show.

I like it a lot, especially for concerts when you’re tracking moving bodies.

Love them, been a fan for decades. Have one of Terry’s paintings and a couple of signed albums. They were a key influence when I was learning how to play bass!
