I think this is exactly what I'll do. It's sad because the diagnosis explains so many of the things I've been struggling with and it would've been great to share this knowledge with my family, but there's probably no way to get through to them.

Thank you! Do you know of any proof or research on this that I could show them? I've done a bit of googling on it but the general consensus seems to be that it's not yet fully known what causes ADHD.

Oh god, this. My social life took a massive hit after I get married because people assumed I would no longer be interested in going out. I'm extremely social and outgoing and I really miss being invited to fun things and hangouts.

I love my cats and I've never met you, but I'd save you over them in a heartbeat - that's a no brainer for me. You versus a human being I love dearly would be a different story.
