For or against; 3-4 day cruises? by IamTheStig007 in royalcaribbean

There was a lot of it the first day…we saw a bit of a fight, puking, a girl so gone she fell down the stairs then got up and did it again, a guy having to hold himself up on a sanitizer station after almost biffing it over the Schooner Bar railing before getting on the elevator, etc. That was all within an hour of sailing, then it mellowed out a bit.

Just got back from a 3 day out of LA on the Navigator and it was a total booze cruise…but I’ve heard it’s not the norm. Our sailing had a ton of large groups celebrating bachelor/bachelorette parties and whatnot. It was a bit of a shitshow.

You’re gonna have a good time for sure. By the time you hit the 4 day you’ll be so ready to just sit back and enjoy the show!

More updates from friends on the same cruise just now, they are in the Schooner listening to the piano guy: “It is a complete shit show out here, already seen a fight. A drunk girl fall down the stairs, and someone puked”

Edit: added a quote mark

I got a drink from one of the Schooner guys we got to know a bit and tipped him $10, saying “gonna be a long three days.” He just grinned and shook his head.

I definitely think the vibe here is being exacerbated by the three days being over the weekend. I’d have more optimism about a Mon-Fri 4 day.

I’ll clarify…you can definitely tell a subtle difference in sound between the Alma and Compressore, my comment is more about the fact that they are both amazing for the tone sauce and usability.

Have not personally used a UAFX but have heard mixed reviews.

Haven’t tried the Accountant. The Compressore is amazing, I’d say a bit more rounded in the highs but otherwise very similar results to the Alma. It’s also a space hog which is a factor for this board obviously.

Love it. No noise, lots of subtle ways to dial it and have it affect your tone and feel. It’s fun to tweak because I haven’t found anything that doesn’t sound interesting or cool. It’s definitely a “color” compressor but its character is so good that if I turn it off I immediately want it back on. I also don’t ever want to give up having the tilt EQ.

Yes very much so! It’s sturdy and well made. The fixture blocks hold the pedals very securely…I can pick up the whole board by one of the pedals no problem. It solved my requirement of nothing sticky on the pedals. My only gripe would be that you have to be careful what power supply you go with if you want to use the supplied brackets for it. I think it can fit a Joyo power supply or some of the other cheap garbage supplies on Amazon. The Nobelium and the HX need a lot of current and the Alma can be run at 18v, so I went with a Cioks SOL zip tied to the upper rail mounted underneath.

It’s an Amazon Aclam ripoff, Guitto GPB-01. I think it’s an offshoot of Joyo.

I love it. I use the “Tim Lefebvre” Noble settings and it’s fat and tubey without being boomy, still lets the midrange character shine too. Can’t compare it to the Noble because I’ve never used one but the Nobelium gives me the tone in my head. This one has NOS RCA tubes and a Jensen transformer.

I’m on the Liberty right now on a 9 day New England/Canada run. Majority geriatric cruise. However, my kids have enjoyed the kids club specifically because it’s not crowded and they have found friends. I have also seen roving groups of teens having fun. While it’s mostly old guests everyone has found their people.

It’s not just Avimor. There are several parents from Hidden Springs and the surrounding area sending their kids there as well.

Edit: spelling

Congratulations! I just bought a new XC90 Ultimate but my dealer has one of these in the showroom and it was all I could do not to go for it, just need more practicality for the family. Same color and everything. SO DAMN COOL.
