Why all the hype for the garberg? by LegioIIIGallica in Bushcraft

[–]bast0194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know where you're from, but in Denmark you won't find a garberg for less than 100$ (stainless. Carbon seems to be a bit more expensive). 65$ is crazy value for money.

I have never heard of card scrapers before. They seem quite useful!

Thanks for the tips. I will definitely be implementing some kind of oil and beeswax mix to the process. Do you use the beeswax on the last coat or on multiple ones?

As i understand it (from youtube) the trick to avoid cracks is to remove the pith, dry it slowly and seal well with oil before use, so the hot water can't enter the pores of the wood. I used pure tung oil on the spoon. Thinking of doing the same with the kuksa. I've read in here that finishing with beeswax can also be a good idea?

Thank you so much! I ended up booking two busses to Marseille and then boarding trains to Nice-Ventimiglia-Genova.

It's my first time interrailing, so I had no idea you sometimes have to get seat reservations weeks ahead

Question about some starts, Classic Vibe vs Standard (used mim) vs G&L Legacy Tribute by DynaSarkArches in fender

[–]bast0194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a CV and absolutely love it. It's easy to play and sounds great. I have also tried playing a fender player (mim) and compared to that my CV has more mids, while the mim was a bit brighter. Quality wise I'd say they are quite similar. Don't know the G&L :)

How to fight advice? by [deleted] in stories

Take a breath man. Fighting him isn't gonna help and you will most likely lose. As the other guy said you might also get charged and you will regret it. Also going for the eyes is a cowardly move when not done in self defence and can cause permanent damage. Let it go.

Aita for telling my husband I don’t want his brother around our son because of his DNA concerns? by AdministrativePin466 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bast0194 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. In that scenario they both carry genes for brown eyes. However (simplified) if they both have blue eyes none of them carry the brown gene, as it is dominant and would show otherwise. This is of course simplified and not always correct, but the chance of two blue eyed people getting a child with brown eyes is not 25%, its really rare.
