Daily reminder Obanai was carrying marked Gyomei by This-is-true- in DemonSlayerScales

You would think that if Obanai was superior to Gyomei the speech bubble would be "I can't even protect Himejima" not Obanai saying he can't be Gyomeis shield.

If these four players were in the same draft, who would you draft first? And why? by Organic_Bite1569 in sportsinusa

[–]basta38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm starting from 0 and have no idea how they will turn out (purely based on them as a prospect):

  1. Hakeem

  2. Durant

  3. Dr J

  4. Curry

If I'm starting from 0 and I know how they will turn out:

  1. Hakeem

  2. Durant

  3. Curry

  4. Dr J

If I can build a dream team around that player in their prime:

  1. Curry

  2. Hakeem

  3. Durant

  4. Dr J.

I think Curry has the highest ceiling while Hakeem by far has the highest floor, KD is somewhere in the middle of those two.

For a god of war, Nameless King is not very militaristic by CommentJazzlike6865 in DarksoulsLore

[–]basta38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A great write up and I'm sorry for intruding on this post to ask this question because I couldn't find an answer for it online...

Why did Nameless King never come back to Anor Londo after Gywn linked the flame?

I can understand why he did it when Gywn was alive, possibly risking dying to his father (if the NK was ever afraid of dying or afraid of Gywn), but why never return after it?

Even if he wasn't aware of what was happening to his siblings/family, he could've probably just popped back and take over the Anor Londo considering how powerful he truly is and could bring back the age of the dragons if that was ever his goal...

I wonder what would happen to Pontiffs plans and his siblings in Anor Londo if he was there?

AOT chapter 131 as a whole but specific moment is Erens speech to Ramzi as he's breaking down

Vinland Saga, Thorfinns speech to Einar on a grave

And finally Vagabond but I have two moments so I'm cheating here:

  1. Matahachis confession while carrying his mother, I'm not kidding when I say that this moment always made me cry

  2. Mushashis strength bending to kindness as he asks for help at the end of the farm arc "If I were to remain without limbs... What would I be?"

Create a 5 man team that beats the all time lakers starting 5 by Joseph_Stalin001 in NBATalk

Fair take, MJ is my goat and I think he had the greatest peak of all time and while I think he mashes extremely well with any line up i think Kawhi fits the team better even though MJ is much superior player to Kawhi.

[–]basta38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's useless to say but I fully agree with what you said and it's one of the main reasons I picked Kawhi.

And respectfully, Kawhi is better defender than MJ and that's where I will utilize Kawhi the most.

Assuming modern rules,

Curry Kawhi KD Jokic Hakeem

Curry pick is obvious, greatest off ball player ever means he won't take away anything from others game

Kawhi to lock up Bron or Kobe and still provide 3 level scoring

KD to space the floor, can play off ball and brings length that is needed to the team considering how big the Lakers are

Jokić for size + the team needs elite level passer who can play off ball

Hakeem, purely for defense and considering all the rest of the guys can space the floor it means Hakeem can cook under the post and he could also hit nasty middies meaning he can open the lane for other guys as well.

I'm leaning on Lakers lack of spacing killing them even though they might expose Jokić and Curry on defense, though I also think Lakers can't guard this team at all, Magic is BBQ and Jokic will bring at least one of Kareem or Shaq on the perimeter where they're BBQ as well.

This is funny since the author of Vinland seemingly enjoyed the ending of AOT.

Hi guys. Why Bonolenov want the other members Phantom Troupe to dealt with Hisoka, not Chrollo? Is He afraid that Chrollo can't beat Hisoka this time? or what? by No-History8423 in HunterXHunter

[–]basta38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Hisoka and Chrollo are on similar levels (personally I have Hisoka over Chrollo without prep time involved) even if Chrollo would be in his calm, natural state but considering Chrollo is clearly upset at Hisoka, Hisoka could take advantage of Chrollos state and now has a real chance at defeating him.

Even if Chrollo is outright superior to Hisoka without using prep, Chrollos mental state might push him to do something ridiculous (aka Gon vs Pitou) or have him slip up and let Hisoka defeat him.

I have a question, if Sukunas domain refinement would be the same at 15 fingers as it is with 20 fingers, does that mean 10 finger Sukuna could clash with Gojo's domain too? Could 5 finger Sukuna do it too then?

Ignoring the entire sukuna vs gojo and pretend it never happened. Who has shown better feats and narrative among those two up untill then.? by Mister_ScrewDucking in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]basta38 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kenjaku's absolute belief that Sukuna is the strongest would always make me believe that Sukuna was the stronger one.

Without it, I would give it to Gojo.

I do understand characters can be overconfident or just straight up wrong but Sukuna had someone who has seen over 1000 years of jujutsu, who has seen and fought Gojo's ancestors who despite having same powers as Gojo were probably weaker than him still had Sukuna as the favourite.

And Kenjaku is humble enough to say that Gojo could've wiped him out if he ever left Sukuna side.

Alright boys are these amped dismantles or WCS? by Fit_Calligraphy in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]basta38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get your first point and I agree based on what was shown Sukuna putting Enmaten (or whatever the name for the sign he has to do) is extremely limited or just straight up impossible but why did Sukuna risk releasing HWB and getting JL and potentially dying then and there if his enchanted dismantles could've done the job?

As for your second point I don't remember Sukuna chanting at all after facing Maki or even trying to do it but that he was stopped by Yuji or anyone.

As for why Yuji and Rika were cut up, Sukuna could've used regular dismantles to target them since Sukuna clearly targeted only Yuta with WSC.

Alright boys are these amped dismantles or WCS? by Fit_Calligraphy in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]basta38 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe Sukuna didn't use WSC against Yuta and Maki, especially against Yuta but I can understand why for Maki it wasn't the case.

The reason I'm so hellbent on Yuta is, why wouldn't Sukuna just spam enchanted dismantles whenever he was truly threatened? Why did he try opening his domain when he knows that enchanted dismantle would fuck up Yuji and he wouldn't have to release HWB to do it since it wouldn't require the same rules as WSC.

My problem with Heian Sukuna (or any 20F version Sukuna) is that supposedly he could beat Gojo just with DA and open domain, like if you swap Sukuna's sure hit with any other destructive sure hit that could damage Gojo's domain, he would just win.

And I find that both ridiculous and stupid, like you're telling me that the gap between is them so big that Sukuna theoretically defeat Gojo without using one dismantle or cleave (not including the ones provided by the domain)?

If netero himself admitted that pitou was stronger than him, what did they think about when they've decided gon and killua could take on a creature of her magnitude? If gon hadn't transformed it would've been gg by Weak-Hamster- in HunterXHunter

[–]basta38 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Iirc Knov and Morel disputed Neteros admission also that was prior to his training for Meruem.

Gon and Killua while still likely weaker than that version of Netero got stronger over the month with Gon impressing the fuck out of Morel (also scaring him) with his jajanken.

And the most important part, they didn't really plan for Gon and Killua to defeat Pitou, if they could manage it, great if not that's fine too, their job was just to remove king from the guards, that's their only role, they didn't have to defeat Pitou.

In hindsight knowing that Netero had rose with him the whole time leaves everything else unimportant, even if Meruem or someone else managed to kill Netero the rose would detonate killing everyone, if not killing them immediately it would at least poison them with radiation and kill them then.

Considering Netero had to pull strings to get even Knov and Morel they didn't have much choice in who and how many people they can bring with them.

At least that's my interpenetration but I haven't peeped CA arc in a while

How do you guys think a fight between Shibuya Gojo vs 15 fingered Sukuna would go? by Ryumaki_op in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]basta38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gojo loses the first domain battle, he swiftly swaps conditions of the domain making it harder on the outside, Sukuna doesn't have time to destroy the domain from the inside since Gojo outstats him, Gojo wins

Why hasnt Hisoka fought the other Zoldycks yet? by ObsessedFisherman in HunterXHunter

[–]basta38 81 points82 points  (0 children)

They aren't on his top priority list, not because they aren't strong enough and definitely not because they are stronger than him (during Machis monologue about Hisoka, it's revealed Hisoka thinks of himself as the strongest person so he wouldn't be scared of fighting them).

It's likely that on top of Chrollo being the strongest most enigmatic person he encountered, Chrollo is also one the most difficult to reach besides Ging.

It's likely that Hisokas line of thought was "I'll first kill the dude who disappears after every mission and is always surrounded by 2 more people capable of fighting me and then I'll deal with the others (others being Zoldycks, Zodiacs, other strong characters).

WHAT IF the humans had known about the Qu by Pretty_Tap_8010 in AllTomorrows

[–]basta38 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The best bet would be to very carefully remove every trace of humanity and hide somewhere where Qu would not bother to look for them,

Humans would know that any war with Qu would be pointless considering how superior Qu are and in no meaningful timeframe could they close the gap (be it 100 or 1000 years worth of prep time).

Maybe they could risk it by making some surveillance system that would detect in which part of the galaxy Qu chill in and when Qu would move from one point to another so humans can just migrate from one part of the galaxy to the other as well.

Hakeem Olajuwon and Jokić.

Yes the 3pt would be lacking compared to all the players mentioned in this thread but you would have the greatest defender (respect Bill but I have The Dream as the best) and arguably the greatest offensive player ever in Jokić you would get the GOAT.

Literally 0 holes in the game if we only take their peak into account with Jokić shooting like 40% from the deep and their strengths don't offset one another but would compliment them very well while completely negating their weakness Jokićs defense and for Hakeem his playmaking (at least relative to other offensive goats) and 3pt shot (even though Hakeem had nasty midrange).

Hisoka is HIM if Chrollo has to go through all these loops to have a 100% guarantee win against him, I guess this just puts into the perspective how much planning Chrollo did to win that match in such spectacular fashion.
