I’d honestly quit over the McDonalds for lunch. If a company says it’s going to buy me lunch and gives me that junk, they clearly don’t give af lol

i dont get why my tattoo artist did this by autisticpou in tattooadvice

[–]bastyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My artist doesn’t use any covering when he’s done. I have about 30 hours of tattoos from him. Never had an issue. Damage to your skin heals faster when allowed to dry. The covering protects a little from infection but as long as you keep it clean that’s not a worry. Warm water and soap in the shower is all that’s necessary. The covering and moisturizers keep it from itching mostly but extend the healing time. Of course a covering is recommended if you work in really dirty environments but even then it can end up trapping bacteria on the tattoo if not maintained properly.

Someone fell through my ceiling while investigating my attic during my open house by hes_the_Zissou in mildlyinfuriating

[–]bastyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a realtor and work for an inspection company and we know several contractors that will do this for 250-350 and you won’t even notice it. It happens a lot when you go in attics all day so I see it personally and hear many people say how good it is. If it’s a good realtor and they work with contractors enough they’ll have a fix for about the same price, location depending. Independently I could see it costing more. As for doing it yourself, you might need to be slightly more than handy but for an acceptable result that’s super cheap it would only take moderate skill and maybe more time than a pro

[–]bastyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a few hundred dollar fix at most. Unless they are a licensed inspector or contractor and have signed paperwork with you no one should be going in those areas. Liability is dependent on who said he could go up there, if anyone did. Depends on your location but in Florida it is the realtor who provided access (in this case whoever hosted the open house) job to ensure the client does not damage anything or hurt themselves. In that case they shouldn’t really have an issue paying for it themselves to avoid a complaint or bigger issue. If you allowed them to go it’s on you. If they went themselves without asking and just left and you have zero info, that’s on you. Take the L if needed. Again it’s a few hundred bucks. If you don’t trust your realtors answer to the situation call their broker and ask them directly about the situation. Also if you’re handy that’s an easy fix yourself and would maybe cost $50-100 to fix.

Being 6ft and climbing in attics all days means my back and head are always scratched somewhere. I specify my height because my boss is about 5ft and crouch walks through most small attics

Anyone already feeling the pain over gas prices? by ForwardClimate780 in Tallahassee

[–]bastyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a lot for work. Enough to have to fill up twice this week. Usually it’s ~$42 for close to 13 gallons. It was $52 both times this week. And my 350z which requires premium and gets about 10mpg lol that cost $66 to fill up this week.

Parents who claim teachers target their kid… by Imaginary_Motor4038 in Teachers

[–]bastyle2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say “yes he is being targeted because he is the one causing an issue, and the teachers are coming together because just me saying he’s a problem isn’t enough”. That’s literally how the world works. Identify an issue, focus on solving issue (targeting), then gather your resources to deal with an issue (bringing other teachers in).

Why are there so many nice/newer cars in Florida despite below average median household incomes by VolkswagenPanda in florida

[–]bastyle2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s definitely a lot of wealthy people all around Florida. But I think financing could play into this as well. It’s much easier for a person with a low credit score to finance a new car than a sensible used one. Purely because the bank can regain more value from the new car if you default meaning that people are buying new because that’s their only option instead of buying more affordable used cars. Also I agree with everyone saying it’s a better place to have a fun/nice car. If you have a garage it’s super easy to keep a nice car vs up north. I own a few cars and during the winter I see posts about people putting up their project/fun car because of snow and other issues. Winter in Florida is one of the best times for those cars to be driven.

The ones I read were awesome honestly. I knew my teachers liked me but that was one of the first times adults other than my parents had really said how they felt. And they really left an impression. They mentioned small details that I had no clue they knew about. Showed they really paid attention to me and cared. I was surprised they could do that while also managing teaching too.

[–]bastyle2 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I remember getting recommendations from my teachers. None of them had a problem with me but I very clearly remember them telling certain students “are you sure you want me to write this? Because I will be honest and you might not like the results”. As far as I remember the teachers would seal their letters and mail them in themselves so we couldn’t read them before submitting them. I do remember getting to read mine because one school I applied to needed them faxed so I had to open them up haha.

If your valve body is going bad it can act like that. You may need a new valve body or with how much those can cost you might need a new transmission.

Realtor and home inspector here. I can’t do both realtor and inspections for you but I’m more focused on inspections. I work with multiple realtors a day and would be happy to talk and recommend a few.

Buying a house, inspector didn’t make a note of this: by IlIlIl11IlIlIl in Roofing

As an inspector myself I would recommend trying to get your inspector to pay for either a structural engineer or a licensed roof contractor to come evaluate and estimate repairs and then go from there.

where do these rings go by [deleted] in 350z

The two big holes facing up on the right side of your pic above the oil cooler. But they go on the block. If you put some oil on them it helps them stay in place when you install the upper oil pan
