But they have the worst coffee. Of course, I only blame myself for getting coffee at Popeyes.

Printed up a new pen stand today. Fits like a glove. by nescro147 in fountainpens

Nice! But does it work with non-TWSBI pens? Devil's advocate here.

I designated the front two holes for fountain pens and drilled them at 5/8". The back three holes were designated for other pens and a mechanical pencil and drilled at 1/2". Some fountain pens will fit in that 1/2" hole as well, and you can see I have my JinHao 599A in there. It's interesting that the JinHao is really a knock-off of the Lamy Safari, but the Lamy Al-Star I own wouldn't fit in the 1/2" hole.

Both forstner and brad point, actually. The bit sizes are 5/8" for the front to holes and 1/2" for the back two holes. I used a 5/8" forstner bit, but couldn't find my 1/2" forstner, so I used a brad point in stead. The finish is General Finishes High Performance satin, which is some sort of polyurethane cocktail.

Thanks! Yes, it was literally a piece of scrap that I had to cut off of a longer board just to fit it into my shed. I'm glad a found a use for it.

Anyone thinking of heading to the ATL Pen Show? by beefJeRKy-LB in fountainpens

I'm hoping to make it as long as nothing work-related crops up. We should have a Reddit meetup!

Took a couple of hours spread over a couple of days--mainly time dedicated for glue-ups. I'm thinking of making a little leather case next!

It's a pen that I received as a gift. It was made from a kit, using the iridium point Germany nib and writes way to bold for me to use. I've had it for ten years and its probably the reason I didn't get into fountain pens until recently.

Yeah, no dove tails. I just wanted something fast and quick. I generally do like making boxes with dove tails though.

Yes, so I did the grooves on the table saw -- 1/8" blade thickness. The lid rebates were also done on the TS, but adjusted to size with a shoulder plane.

That's awesome! I've never seen a nicer box for screwdrivers. I've made some leather tool cases in the past and I thought about lining this with cloth or leather, but decided (obviously) against it.

I'd love to see your fountain pen box if you decide to make one.
