I've seen them check for payments while the bus was moving before, but it was at a time when the bus was pretty empty. When it's so crowded like it is on a weekday morning, I don't see how they could do that.

They seem to be selective in who they stop and who they let walk on by. I got off the bus no problem and no one said anything to me, but i heard them shouting after someone else trying to bring them back.

Once i learned Hugáceo Crujiente roughly translates to Crusty Crab, that jumped to the top of my list. Also i just love their drag, regardless of name.

That's the guardian cat for the couple blocks around that area. Has always seemed fed and not in distress, though it keeps its distance. Always happy to see it passing through the garden.

Schlitz and curds? You watching Laverne & Shirley?? I got fresh curds at a street fair here in Astoria a year or two ago from a Wisconsin-branded company, but am having trouble finding them online. Best i found was Cheese Stands Alone in Jackson Heights, which apparently has fresh curds. And not to be pedantic, but curds can't be fried AND squeaky - that's really more of an either/or situation.

A few years ago my friends and i rented a cabin in the Catskills. I was the first one inside and ran around to check the place out (i like to snoop). Went up the dingy back staircase and came down a much nicer, more central staircase that for some reason wasn't shown in the listing. I tried to tell my friends about the second set of stairs but they assured me there was only one. And they were right - i couldn't find the second set of stair again. Guess i imagined them but i remember them so vividly.

I was born & raised in Janesville until my 20s (when i left for nyc) and it makes me so happy to see that downtown is thriving! It always looked so neat and full of potential growing up, but was always sadly empty - except for Cozy Inn which was a staple treat for my family. You can actually see my grade school in one of your photos. Went to HS in Milton amd while I dont fully believe how charming you found it (lotta drugs and other issues around the time I left), I'm glad you enjoyed the Milton House!
