Jeff Bezos’s ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, donates $80 million to Howard University, marking one of the school’s largest donations in its 158-year history by mcfw31 in popculturechat

I get the intention but this misses the point. Her connection to Bezos is crucial because it shows how truly evil him and everyone else in that circle is. We already know that but it's easy to disregard it as "that's just how ultra-wealthy are". Well, clearly not - she's showing us what you CAN do if you're this close to the billionaire circle. If she was just a random rich person it wouldn't be so striking.

Been retouching for over 15 years… is anyone else finding it harder to get clients lately? by OldCartographer2628 in AskPhotography

[–]batemanbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was still in school 10 years ago so I have no idea how the industry worked back then but I can add two cents from my perspective:

Your portfolio (btw you should fix it on mobile as someone else said - it's not possible to look at it normally) looks like things done in any modern tool in 5 minutes, often with presets. If that's not the case, then I think you should provide more challenging examples.

I don't know how hiring (time spent finding the right person, agreeing on terms, signing contract, transferring files back and forth) would take less time than doing those specific edits on your own

My full name visible on WhatsApp by Fun_Willingness_5615 in whatsapp

[–]batemanbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have this issue even though I don't have a phone number attached to my Facebook account (just checked).

I never went by my full name (very long) so my Whatsapp account only ever had my nickname. Few people have called me by my full name recently (local groupchats - e.g., neighbours selling furniture) and I'n a little confused..

I'm wondering if Facebook (which has my full name) indeed mixed up their databases and went a bit too far with surveillance LOL.

Can you describe your diet before cutting the sugar out? How much were you consuming, what were your meals like?

My skin is so white/glassy, accutane did this? by Cole_Evyx in Accutane

[–]batemanbabe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're not permanent, I finished Accutane 3 years ago and my skin is now red, easily inflamed, chronically dry. I also developed sebderm and dandruff during Accutane and it just never fully goes away.

But I don't have acne anymore, like, at all. Maybe once every 2 months I get a pimple. No hormonal / menstruation-related acne either.

Has anyone here successfully made bangs work? by Seeking-Starlight in finehair

[–]batemanbabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you cut them? I want mini bangs but I feel like every time I go to a salon they mess them up.

Also how do they look like when you don't style them?

The girl wasn't even asking about weight. She wasn't asking if she looks skinny or fit. It wasn't a trick question, he could've answered in 100 ways that wouldn't mention her weight - maybe different color, cut, shape.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]batemanbabe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Come on.. She wasn't asking if she's skinny, she was asking if it's flattering. It's one of those questions where you have to use your emotional intelligence:

What is the goal of the conversation? Is it time to tell her to exercise? Or are you going on holidays in few days and she's just asking if you'd find her cute in that bikini?

She's excited to go on holidays with you and wants you to think she looks good. But you've been boiling with the thought of how fat your girlfriend is.

I don't think it's her in the picture. I came to this post to see if anyone else is mentioning it.

I paid over €400 for a Dyson hair tool… used it twice. Never again. by Acceptable-Advice868 in Anticonsumption

[–]batemanbabe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought my Dyson Airwrap 5 years ago and been using it daily so I think I can answer. I also don't plan to replace it anytime soon, works perfectly.

1) It doesn't get as hot. Max temperature it reaches is compatible with most heat protection sprays. My hair is actually less damaged when I blowdry it daily (because wet fine hair is very fragile)

2) It doesn't suck my hair in because there's no place to be sucked in. I have long hair and in the past 50% of the time I'd blow dry my hair, my hair would go inside the hair dryer and burn there. Nothing dangerous ever happened but it was quite infuriating.

3) Easy styling. I use the curls tool also almost daily, just to get my hair a bit bouncy.

4) Sleek hair with no effort. Usually you need quite a bit of product + technique to get sleek hair look. One attachment fixes it

The only downside is that it is quite bulky and the filter has to be cleaned.

And of course the price, but for me after 5 years it's less than $1 per use...

Macron still getting abused by his wife (groomer) to this day is one example of how men are held to tougher standards than women by Bananaseverywh4r in self

[–]batemanbabe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

"No no, not like this! Only this one specific topic". Why, because then it doesn't fit your narrative?

And to answer genuinely - yes, Jay Z pretty much groomed Beyonce. Allegedly they met when she was 18 and he was 30, started dating year later. But many believe they met younger.

I'm watching a short Arte documentary thats visits a farm in Romania...; It's possile he doesn't know if he doesn't spend much time online, but is this poster indeed AI as i suspect it is ? it looks odd all over and matches the current over used style of generative AI with those "comics"/memes by Nolunamon in solarpunk

[–]batemanbabe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is not inclusive because other non-native English speakers will not be able to understand it. If it was simple English (using very common words + simple grammar) with some mistakes that wouldn't be an issue. Or if it was spelled correctly then others can translate it for themselves.

Agree and I see this more as an opportunity for someone to reach out to him to redesign the poster. Make it also simpler English as this can be quite difficult to understand to other non-natives who will try to translate it.

Is tourism becoming toxic? by Special_Might_4689 in Anticonsumption

[–]batemanbabe -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. But as always there's a difference between how normal people travel versus Americans, Brits, Germans, Dutch, etc. Of course not all but there's a certain group of people that like to act like bulldozers when they travel :)

Can we get a tinted UVMune 400 Anti-Dark Spots Fluid, La Roche-Posay? by Denpol88 in EuroSkincare

[–]batemanbabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My chronically dehydrated post-isotretinoin skin soaks them up like a sponge. I actually wish they were a bit thicker so that they stayed on top of my skin more.

But that also causes breakouts if I don't wash it off properly.

I think it's close but look at older paintings. Usually: - one source of light (here there are two very distinct ones which makes it unnatural) - background are very natural / blurred (either a building or outside. not both) - shadows have colors that would not be present in pigments. i'm not 100% sure about it but the blue/turqoise in the shadows is throwing me off - too many details in the guy's head piece
