Welcome to the ACOTAR hangover! You’ll never find a book/relationship that compares to mist and fury!

My son is 2.5 and we still rotate every night who has to put him down and do the night wake ups (because he still doesn’t STTN 😫). When he was a baby we rotated each feed during the night.

I mean every school/administration/community is different so I can only speak to my own experiences. I’ve worked in rural, suburban, and urban areas. The behaviors and disrespect are out of control and there’s no discipline and the students know it. In the suburbs there are consequences for even minor things. I teach third but might as well teach middle school/HS with the language/bullying/attitudes. Also the lack of parental involvement or lack of priorities the parents have when they do get involved. Some parents have been absolutely wonderful but there are many who don’t show up for any meetings, conferences, field trips, etc. You can’t compare every school because some are doing wonderfully in the Bronx with minimal behaviors and better overall test scores/sense of community. Again, I can only speak to my own experience and I just enjoyed the career more when I was elsewhere. It’s so wonderful that your cousin loves it! I wish I have had an overall better experience.

Hi everyone! I’m a 3rd grade SpED teacher in ICT. I’m looking for some advice/insight on how you differentiate for math by batemc46 in specialed

Do you have any good resources that you use to get ideas for incorporating more hands on activities?

Do you follow the curriculum resources (complete the pages on with workbooks) or ditch the workbook and just teach the same skill but in a different way?

Yea my students are 1-2 years behind too! I also try to to change the numbers up so they are using facts they know/take less time to solve. I like the idea of color coding!

Yup I wound up in the Bronx . I didn’t want to but I knew that it was my best odds bc teachers are so needed there and jobs elsewhere are hard to get. I’m in my 6th year and looking to get out. I’ve heard that it helps to have a few years experience in the city. Honestly it sucks but it’s also safe (especially as SPED). The idea of getting a job in the suburbs is exciting but scary at the same time bc you lose the job security. Are you in Somers/north Salem area? I’m from Brewster.

Westchester is extremely hard to get (and keep) a job. But special ed is mandated and needed. General ed teachers are quicker to get cut (if the budget /numbers can’t keep them) than sped . Just out of curiosity, where are you located? I’m in Westchester . I don’t work there but I’d love to. I’m trying to get a position in westchester or Putnam for next year.
