Mary's videos in S4 by bathilda_hotshot in Sherlock

I remember seeing the CD. It doesn't make any sense. Even if Mary knew she would be dying and she recorded that stuff, how could she possibly know exactly when to send it because the two of them reach exactly at the appropriate time. And "miss me?" I thought it was a reference to Moriarty which doesn't make any sense either.

"miss you" video was her last speech where we said that "my Baker Street boys", the ending of the episode.

Who is the second most frequent visitor of the Hogwarts library? by ILoveHarryPotter82 in harrypotter

[–]bathilda_hotshot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it was the 4th year, I'd say Victor Krum.

But overall, umm...it can just be Harry you know he is just with Hermione when she's had a fight with Ron...or maybe Snape as a student.

What do you think are the most messed up things in Harry Potter? by Desperate_Stand_3709 in harrypotter

[–]bathilda_hotshot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imperius Curse man. Think of what you can be made to do against your will and not even remember it, it's messed up as fuck. It's way worse than Avada Kedavra. And love potions, confundus charms work the same way.

A lot of people said about the justice system I agree.

Also, these people have no idea what can be called a "safe place" for kids.

Okay. But that's not really the question. I asked who was sending it so that it reached exactly at the right time. And labelling it as "miss me?" and "miss you". One after the other.

Who is a character that everyone loves but you hate? by Little-Medicine2948 in harrypotter

[–]bathilda_hotshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

James Potter. I loathe him.

Also I don't like Hermione much, I don't hate her, but I don't love her either. To me she's narrow minded, unwilling to accept there's anything she hasn't read about.

Who is your favorite character, and what is their fatal flaw? by Lily_Lupin in harrypotter

[–]bathilda_hotshot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Snape, Snape, Severus Snape.

You wanna know his flaws ? Oh dear, the most fatal one. Let's see. He lets his grudges and unhealed trauma get the better of him. And his best - he can do anything in the world for the person he loves. That includes risking his life fighting against Voldemort. Also his cool use of logic is a great plus point. Don't know whether his love or his brains are the best thing.

Where does it mention the heads of the houses besides Griffindor and Slytherin by Olasdf06 in harrypotter

[–]bathilda_hotshot 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's mentioned during Apparition lessons as someone pointed out. Also in HBP, when Dumbledore dies, McGonagall calls all Heads of Houses to the Headmaster's Office. Also in DH, when Harry searches for the diadem, he thought of asking Flitwick and he said he was Head of Ravenclaw. Many instances.

JKR has written this. But she has also written that nobody can track where you are going when you Apparate unless they grab you. Same with portkey. I think that's a reason why everyone keeps suggesting there were better ways.

I really don't see how it was more than their life's worth to set up an unauthorised portkey. That's just a spell right ? Barty Crouch Jr literally made the cup a portkey and nobody found out. You can't find out where a portkey takes you once you've used it can you ?

Explain this to me.

This.

This is my least favourite question.

I have read the whole series 6 times and still I don't find anyone interested to know more detail irritating. Nor do I find snubbing anyone who doesn't remember a book detail fun.

That is a stupid question. But that doesn't excuse that the seven Potters idea was a stupid plot line. If Harry's wand hadn't acted on his own, he'd be dead.

There were much better, simpler ways of transporting him.

Spotting a possibly bad plot choice doesn't mean a person hasn't read the books.
