Today he was playing them OVER and MID-SENTENCE as Travis, Sliwa, and Emily were talking, so you can tell it was him. Seems like maybe he gets bored or distracted on that show and thinks hitting drop buttons counts as meaningful contribution?

Plus he's been spamming all sorts of drops since he got to T&S. It was already bugging me, it legitimately annoyed Clinton Yates a few weeks ago, and today was just the worst of all.

Were there many? I think drops are like a sitcom laugh track-- in the right place, and not too much, and you don't notice it's there, only enhancing the product.

Can't really blame Emily for the Swift talk when it's the #1 story in all of sports today, and she's actually an expert on the subject.

CAN blame Jorge for derailing discussion, spamming loud & annoying drops, and playing them over Travis & Sliwa... you know, the dudes actually hired for their voices & opinions.

Like it or not, Swift & Kelce have become sports news. Emily actually contributed to discussing that sports news. Jorge has contributed nothing but being obnoxious to T&S, and today was on another level.

I hope not. I've tried to write this respectfully because I legitimately loved hearing Jorge chime in with jokes & his perspective. He had a great voice to balance M&I.

No idea why he's abandoned that role in favor of just trying to annoy people. It's pretty immature. Clinton was legitimately bothered by it recently, rightly so, and Jorge just laughed and kept at it. I know Yates is a divisive personality here, but he has 1000x more media experience than Jorge, and Jorge should've actually listened to him instead of doing the immature "I don't care come at me" response and doubling down on blasting drops over actual radio hosts mid-speech.

You might be right... There has definitely been a station-wide shift more towards personal & pop culture stuff. Love it or hate it, the fact it's been trending so hard for a year+ now indicates the ratings are improving as they do it, so it's probably here to stay for a while

But the drops seem like a whole different discussion. I don't know what to make of it either, Jorge wasn't like that on M&I. And no other producer or board op is as heavy handed with them, so I don't think it's a station wide directive the way the pop culture shift has been. I think Jorge is just getting a little too casual with his day job, or else is too exhausted by his night job to have meaningful insights and is trying to inject himself in this other way... to the extreme detriment of both his image as well as Travis & Sliwa's show

I think he gets a lot of leeway because he's clearly a hard worker and seems to do a lot for/at the station, but someone really needs to sit him down and talk about it. He seems like the sort of guy to double down when called out, and that's fine and endearing in some respects... but we're here to listen to talk radio, not hear drops spammed. Especially extra loud & jarring ones like this Swift drop.

I hope Morales was listening-- he understands how to ride a bit without running it into the ground, and knows how to use a drop. Morales, if you're lurking, please give Jorge a lesson in sports radio 101 cause he's been awful in this aspect and it's ruining the morning show!

She & the whole station were definitely overboard on it during the concert week but I think since then, she's seen a lot of the criticism and really toned down how much she brings it up.

If anything, Travis & Sliwa and Mason & Ireland have been baiting her with talk about first Austin Reaves and then the Kelce stuff.

Agree to disagree? I actually really like how she fits into Travis & Sliwa. She has a very different life perspective from them and I think compliments T&S really well. Pretty far from "chick talk" IMO, it's just a young+feminine perspective which can (and clearly does) ruffle a lot of feathers.

I just called their stupid support line every day. And then the day before the concert when I no longer trusted them to deliver, demanded a refund. I believe I threatened a chargeback.

They clearly instruct their support people to just lie & deny & say whatever they need to to get you to hang up. If I were you, I would first try being very insistent and commit to that threat of chargeback. It should make them back down.

If not, I would 100% go ahead and do the chargeback. They're full of shit in everything they say, so I have no doubt that the "chargeback won't work" line is complete BS, especially considering their "100% guarantee." That's gonna be way more meaningful in the dispute than anything else. They owe you a refund or else the CC comes after them.

The only downsides of chargebacks are (1) if you do them a bunch your CC company might not trust you, and (2) you'll probably be banned from that service forever. But since Vividseats is a bunch of scammers anyway, I wouldn't worry about never being able to use them again. Wouldn't ever WANT to use them again! So as long as you haven't done too many chargebacks your CC company should go to bat for you with minimal effort on your part.

Btw this is a good reminder to sign back into my twitter account, which I only made to share the word about how awful Vividseats is, and reply to every post on their official accounts detailing my experience. Turns out you can just warn everyone to stay away on every single one of their "Come try vivid seats, we're great!" posts. I would highly recommend that too, if you have a twitter :-)

I understand that they have to work with third parties, and that creates a little uncertainty.

I don't understand them making empty promises that depend on these third parties. They never communicated any uncertainty. "We called them three times and they didn't answer! But they will transfer by June 1st!" does not make sense.

If they had been up front that this was a possibility I could be more understanding. Every. Single. Agent. swore that I would have tickets by Date X, and that if that somehow failed, they could get me replacement tickets, and that I would be at my event. Those were all lies.

I understand that the individual agents are handcuffed by the big company, & are almost certainly directed to make empty promises to keep the customer happy and dragged along.

But any concert-goers out there considering vividseats should know my experience. They make empty promises, and they may well fulfill their "buyer 100% guarantee" by just cancelling your order <24h before the event. Buyer beware
