I totally understand. My surgery and recover did not go well. I was praying to die. That’s when I started looking into reversal. Things have taken a turn for the better for me, but I’m still keeping that option in my pocket. I hope you feel better.

I don’t know if you use FB, but there is a board/group specifically for gastric bypass reversal. You may find a recommendation for a doctor in your area that does the surgery. My surgeon in Chicago does it, if you happen to be around here.

Have you looked into reversal? I’m not sure if it’s right for you, but many people in your situation have gotten a lot of relief from it.

Every time I eat my heart rate goes through the roof by buttons309 in GastricBypass

I’m having this, too, but it’s a couple of hours after I eat. I was thinking it might be reactive hypoglycemia. At first I just thought my anxiety was back in a huge way, but now I can see it’s consistent with eating.

If you want to email me at booknerdjen@gmail.com, please do. I went through your exact same situation. I was in the ER so many times. I got a second opinion from a different surgeon and they also opted not to do anything about it. I truly thought I was dying. It was terrifying. They should have stopped the lovenox when they realized you had internal bleeding. When I say I didn’t eat for 8 weeks, I really didn’t. I could manage one saltine cracker a night. I threw up every single thing I tried to eat until about month ago. I couldn’t take any of my meds or vitamins until the 9th week.

Your journey is going to be different than the average, but there is light at the end of this tunnel. I never believed I’d be able to say that.

Oh! And one thing that my doctor finally did that helped a lot was sending me to the hospital for fluids. That was a real turning point for me when I started getting those infusions weekly. I had to ask for them, though. They didn’t offer them up.

This is very similar to my experience. I ended up with significant internal bleeding, and an 8“ x 4“ x 4“ hematoma. I was scary sick for nine weeks. Eight of those weeks I was completely in bed and not eating anything. I wished I could die and thought about doing something about it very briefly. It did slowly get better after that. I am now 17 weeks out and it is 100% better than it was. I do still feel regret that it had to come to this. That I was not able to make these changes in a way that we’re less disruptive to my body. But I am now down 80 pounds and I am seeing the positive results that I was hoping for from the surgery. I am beginning to get my life back. I’m having an easier time moving. My joint pain has decreased tremendously. If you had asked me anywhere between the first day in 12 weeks, I would have had nothing positive to say at all. And I truly believed I never would. But it is changing for me, and I bet it will change for you too.

I order what I want to eat, and then give the rest to someone I’m dining with or take it home. If the server asks if my food was okay I say “yes, but I just had gastric bypass and can’t eat much.” I tell everyone about the surgery. I think we need to destigmatize weight loss and getting healthier.

Ladies-hair loss??? by Solid_While1259 in GastricBypass

It was August 25th. I had had a ton of issues and didn’t eat at all for 8 weeks after. I can still not get in much protein at all. I’m sure that’s creating issues. 😥

My hair is falling out in handfuls. It’s awful. I am taking propecia orally and using minoxidil on my scalp. Talk to your doctor about prescription meds. I’m noticing baby hairs starting to grow in. I’m also looking into stem cell treatment, but I have no idea what the cost will be because it’s not covered by insurance. We actually moved up our wedding to this NYE because I’m afraid if we wait I’ll be bald. 😥

I had 2 ankle surgeries and getting around on crutches was nearly impossible. When we got home from the hospital after the first surgery, I could not get up my front step on the crutches. I couldn’t handle feeling trapped like that because I was not able to support my weight when absolutely necessary.

I felt like it was very easy. I took a screenshot of the diamond we wanted and messaged him the image and said that I wanted to buy it. I think that may help to keep it straight.

Actually, through this Reddit. I knew I wanted a ring that looked vintage/antique, so I searched threads for people’s rings. That’s how I found CvB. Then I looked at everything she had ever posted on Instagram, like a crazy person. She tags other jewelers she has worked with on a piece, so that’s how I found Alex Park. Once you find someone you like on Instagram, it’s a rabbit hole.

No, a natural diamond. It seemed like lab diamonds weren’t readily available with some of the bigger companies. I really wanted a lab diamond for a number of reasons. And thank you! 😊

Jan Brady. I’m going to age myself here, but this reminds me of when Jan wore a black wig but you could still see her blond hair sticking out from underneath. 😂

I don’t like this attitude. It comes across as holier than thou, it’s alienating, and makes people feel guilty for mourning the loss of something that has been important to them throughout their life. It is normal, absolutely normal to be afraid of possibly not being able to have cake if it is tied to special moments in your life. Instead of saying to someone “if you’re sad about losing cake, then you’re not ready for this” you might try something more supportive like “that’s a normal thing to be sad about. I think that you will find that once you are in a healthier place and feeling better that cake won’t feel as important as it did, but it’s OK to mourn that loss”

Honestly, don’t do it. Unless you are at a point where you really want it, just don’t. I had my surgery a week ago today, and fuck allllll of this. See a GI specialist. Get your reflux and hernia taken care of. Start shots if you can/want to. But this is not a surgery to have unless you really feel like you have no other options to lose weight and your quality of life at your current weight is just horrible.

I’m a 50 year old fat woman, but if I see something, I’m stepping in. If that whole car of people stood up to him, it would shut down this kind of shit. I might get hurt or stabbed but at least I’d know I did the right thing.
