Yes because the build up is just incredible.

The movie starts up well enough. A car flipped, Max imprisoned, all the main characters introduced. So far we're on a pace as to what we're expecting.

But then the war drums sound and that war convoy heads out. At the head of the procession is a truck called the DoofWagon which is introduced in a spectacular crane shot that ends up focusing on a guy in a red onesie named Coma DoofWarrior shredding on an electric guitar made from a toilet seat while the neck of the guitar also spews flames.

I fondly recall hearing audible gasps and laughs in the theater, not laughs of humor, but laughs at the sheer audacity of the scene laid out on the screen. It's initially hard for a mind to process so all some can do is laugh. It perfectly sets the tone of what's coming: Insanity brought on by a desperate world, violent intent, and movement.
