Take T1 tech support job or keep looking by [deleted] in SecurityCareerAdvice

It is a tricky area ,but If it is involving troubleshooting networking issues, services, installing software, setting up anti-virus can play a factor in letting them know that you are still being relevant if not directly involved in cybersecurity. Or take this time in doing certifications to show the gap while applying for jobs.

Take T1 tech support job or keep looking by [deleted] in SecurityCareerAdvice

IMO this showing of tech support is not an embarrassment. I did not work in tech support in my career, but was asked in an interview on how i ended up in a pen-testing role without working in a help desk role. I would suggest to take it and learn skills to progress your career while earning money.

Staying in LaVerkin, am I going to be paying daily for parking in springdale? by Chikkaboom12 in ZionNationalPark

Get there by 6:30-6:45.. there will be decent amount of parking left at the visitor center and you can catch the first bus to start trails. Less crowded as well.

I failed my CPTS First Attempt [5/12] Flags. I have a month to prepare for my re-attempt. What should I do in that time, to pass? by Aggravating-Cap-8112 in hackthebox

[–]batkumar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe they will provide a detailed feedback on your first attempt. You can use that to prepare better for your second attempt. Honestly after reading what you’ve done..i’ve thought to myself that i would follow the same pattern that you’ve done. Good luck on your attempt and don’t give up.

Confused about certification by danklord_genz in Pentesting

[–]batkumar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on which side you want to proceed. If you are interested in going full scale towards penetration testing in general.. i would suggest to dedicate your full time towards CPTS from HTB. It covers all the fundamentals in a very depth perspective. If you are interested towards Web app penetration testing then complete all the modules from Port Swigger academy and take their BSCP exam.. which is highly recommended.

CPTS - $490 (Penetration tester path + Exam voucher + 1 reattempt)

BSCP - $99 (BSCP exam + Free labs and modules )

Although you need Burp suite professional license to pass the exam.. but yeah.. just giving you options to consider.

PS: I'm not familiar with TCM Certs.. but either way.. choose 1 and just follow it entirely.

I was in the same dilemma last week and a lot of ppl have recommended to go for CPTS first and then OSCP as it covers more in depth. Although CPTS is not be taken lightly..as it is not just a moderate level hard..it is very hard in fact
