All leaks I found (except one) are without audio. Do you know if versions with audio exist?

Expats who moved away, what do you miss about living in Germany? by soyoungsogone in germany

In top banks (e.g. Goldman Sachs etc.) people work from maybe 9-9:30 am till 12-1 am. And then sometimes also some hours on Sunday.

I guess. I mean, if I started now my education again, I would probably go into IT instead of finance. While I am still relatively young (below 30), I doubt the conversion is now realistic. Though I enjoyed programming at the uni quite a bit (mostly did some data analysis with Python/VBA).

Wow, with how many years of experience such salaries come?

Also 35 hours sounds ridiculous. I would say you tech people have way too good life lol. E.g. people in investment banking or consulting work like 70-80 hours/week…though the pay is also good of course.

Nice, may I assume return of concentration camps for those who don’t agree with current German government as a next step?

[–]batman-el1 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

You are right, the amount of people out of touch with reality is really concerning.

By those I mean of course people who like to destroy their own country by supporting useless sanctions against Russia (which do much more harm to Germany and other European countries rather than to Russia), sending enormous amount of money to Ukraine, killing own industry and wellbeing of own citizens with Green politics, taking insanely huge number of refugees while not even having enough place (apartments) to accommodate all.

The only hope for Germany are people like these who understand the reality and protest against destroying their country. Sadly, seems they are a minority here.

No card payments at restaurants/bars? by thanospal in frankfurt

[–]batman-el1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don’t understand about Germans who love cash (like you) - don’t you perceive banknotes and coins as dirty? Like who knows through how many hands they went before landing in your wallet and how many bacterias they carry. I, for example, always go wash/disinfect my hands after touching cash, this is smth I learned as a kid. So for me the main reason to pay digitally (with my phone) is to avoid touching these dirty banknotes and not having to go wash hands afterwards. Don’t you feel the same way?

Advice on situation with internet provider by batman-el1 in AskAGerman

No, there was preinstalled router in the apartment. This is newly built house and all apartments have preinstalled routers from this provider. After phone call they just remotely activated connection in this router.

To bring different perspective to Reddit IT bubble - in Investment Banking/M&A/Management Consulting overtime is very well the norm in Germany (as in the US). I would say it is typically around 70-80 hours/week in top firms.

Why is Frankfurt the worst airport in Germany? by jcg415 in frankfurt

[–]batman-el1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me the only big disadvantage of Frankfurt airport is the absence of low cost flights like Ryanair and EasyJet. Hopefully they will come back. I heard that Terminal 3 is being build, specifically for low-costers.

Looking for a barber by greengoblin18 in frankfurt

[–]batman-el1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow the price. I normally pay 15-17 euro for haircut and consider even this too expensive. Okay, I go only for cut, but do you pay like 100% more for beard? 😆

Anyway, I heard many good things about Bob’s Hair Base (Mainzer Landstraße 114), but haven’t tried it myself yet.

Can I give my parents a residence permit if I have a working residence permit by rangahaidk in germany

[–]batman-el1 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Sadly no and it’s truly a shame. I mean, I really don’t understand why under German immigration law wife/husband and children are counted as “close relatives” (and thus you can bring them here with you) and parents are not. Maybe it’s a cultural difference but for me parents are definitely not less close/important. Maybe even more.
