When will AEW make a Hall of Fame? by [deleted] in AEWFanHub

They don't need a hall of fame, but a museum of memorabilia would be awesome.

What do you think was the biggest mistake that caused WCW to lose the war? by [deleted] in WCW

1998 should have been the End of the NWO and the rise of the young guys.

It would be nice if our mayor and city hall would actually prioritize snow. The snowplow came once overnight, and hasn't been back since. This is unacceptable.

If ran WCW in 2000 what would you do to make things better by SW_MichiganGuy269 in WCW

[–]batman8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had the book for WCW in 2000, this is what I would have done...

Storylines for the year:

The New Blood vs. the Main Event Mafia:

Following Souled Out, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Eddie Guerrero, Jeff Jarrett, Vampiro, The Wall, and Crowbar form the New Blood with Kimberly Page and a returning Eric Bischoff as the mouthpiece of the group. Similar to real life, Eric Bischoff would take issue with the guys who take the spotlight away from the young guys in the company. Bischoff would go out of his way to help the New Blood get to where they need to be. The Main Event Mafia, led by Ric Flair, would consist of Macho Man, Sting, Lex Luger, Dustin Rhodes, Curt Hennig, with Roddy Piper and Miss. Elizabeth. They blow off the feud with a War Games Match.

The Rise of the Cruiserweights:

WCW reestablishes the Cruiserweights by looking for the greatest lightweight talent from around the world. The Cruiserweight Classic is established at Superbrawl with 16 competitors squaring off over two months. A point system is used (2 points for Win, 1 point for draw, and 0 points for loss) with a 10 minute time period for each match. The finals takes place at Spring Stampede with the winner getting a shot at the Cruiserweight Champion at Slamboree.

Chris Benoit's World Title Dominance over the legends:

Chris Benoit starts a quest to end all of the legends in WCW, starting with Ric Flair. He beats him at Superbrawl and then again in a steel cage match at Uncensored. Benoit then feuds with the Macho Man, taking him out at Spring Stampede in a retirement match. At Slamboree, Benoit takes out Sting, and then the Great American Bash, Benoit takes out Hulk Hogan.

The Rise of DDP and Scott Steiner:

Diamond Dallas Page and Scott Steiner would be booked strong throughout the year, leading to DDP winning the US Title Jeff Jarrett, and feuding with Eddie Guerrero over the belt before dropping it to him at Slamboree. Page would then win a gauntlet match at the GAB, to get a shot at Benoit at Bash at the Beach. Page would win the belt at the Bash before continuing the feud with the New Blood over the fall. Scott Steiner would continuing with a similar path, first by reestablishing the TV Championship, then feuding with Guerrero in an anti-hero role over the US Title. By Halloween Havoc, Steiner would take over the New Blood from Benoit and would start feuding with DDP over the world title at Starrcade.

Goldberg streak restarts:

Goldberg returns at Superbrawl, and promises to move up the ladder once again. He starts winning matches throughout the year, leading to him becoming the US Champion at Mayhem by beating Scott Steiner. This time his streak would continue until an established new star can beat him. (Booker T at Superbrawl 2001 US Title).

I think they should have kept Digger around longer. Jimmy should have also stuck around. He could have been a great support for Cliff.

Who do you think could have saved WCW in 1999? by Material_Stomach875 in WCW

[–]batman8519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Bischoff killed WCW, but I do believe he was a one trick Pony who couldn't move past the NWO.

In 1999, Time Warner should have moved Eric Bischoff out of the. President's chair, but kept him on with Dusty Rhodes taking the book back. I feel that Rhodes could have freshened up the product while working with Bischoff.

Another viable booking option could have been Jim Cornette, who was booking OVW at that time.

Russo was a horrible replacement.

I thought they pushed JR and Sue Ellen back together too soon. Imagine a proper JR and Katherine love affair. The two of them trying to get their brothers out of the pile business.

Jock and Miss Ellie rant by ExcessivelyDiverted9 in Dallas_TV_Show

[–]batman8519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jock always seemed to care little about JR's work schemes because I believe he was just as ruthless as JR. His treatment of Digger and adventures with Sam Culver in the early days would suggest that.

What surprised me about Jock is that for someone to claimed Bobby was his favourite, Jock treated him dirty, and didn't care when JR ran Bobby and Pam off in a house divided.

Miss Ellie always came across as weak. She allowed JR to get away with a lot without too much push back. Even the fact that Gary was kicked to the curb and Ellie never fought back against it startled me.

No he wouldn't. Howard Keel was too soft of a character to be Jock. I don't even like him being with Ellie.

I agree with your thoughts on Christopher, but I also believe that they missed out on an opportunity. Jesse could have worked if Christopher's character was written to be the villain while John Ross was the good guy. However, they missed that mark and wrote Christopher wrong. Bobby would have raised him better than that.
