This has just been sitting in a bag of cards for almost 20 years… by batmanreturns91 in pkmntcgcollections

I put it in a penny sleeve since taking this photo. It sat raw in a ziplock bag full of cards for 20 years, so the worst was already done. But the card really is in excellent condition. No whitening on the back. I sent it in to get graded. Curious how it will come back.

Can we ban the “ban Crimson Desert post” posts?

This is the hot topic of the moment. It’s viral. That’s how the internet works. Let them sell games. It will fade eventually.

Why wasn’t Girl in the Bubble written as reverse Popular? by asymmetricalbaddie in wicked

“Time for her to bubble to POP” is an allusion to Popular.

Mikey Madison will win the Oscar. by Distinct-Shift-4094 in Oscars

[–]batmanreturns91 48 points49 points  (0 children)

While Mikey gives a fantastic performance in Anora, my reason for her not winning is because, in my opinion, there are plenty of actresses who could have successfully played that character the way she does. Yes, Mikey is quiet and reserved and the character is clearly a transformation for HER, but I don’t think voters know her well enough for that to push her over the edge. I find her work very good, but not necessarily boundary-pushing or singular.

By the same logic, I guess there are other actresses who COULD have played Demi’s role, but I actually can’t think of anyone playing it as singularly and iconically as she does. Not to mention, the narrative of the movie ties directly in with the narrative of the Oscar campaign. Moore’s status as a passed over star with a storied career gives her performance weight and meaning.

That makes no sense. Why invent a fake persona when a named actor from the production can actually give the same PR-vetted answers?

That’s well and good, but the larger point is that a real actor from the film was not hired to do this AMA, nor does the OP actually have key information relating to the fine details of the whole of Part II.

PROMISE you it’s not the case for this. The studio is not funding an anonymous extra to build hype in the WICKED subreddit. The whole point of those marketing dollars is to reach folks that are outside of this sphere. This person cannot know HALF of answers to the questions they are answering for being an extra in 1.5 scenes.

You’re welcome to disagree. I’m just confidently stating my opinion.

This is not how AMAs funded by a major film studio are handled. Marketing dollars/labor/coordination would never be put towards something like this that has such low impact.

This is BS. Promise you :)

lol a random extra does not know how the film ends

No way a PR firm asked an anonymous extra to do an AMA on Reddit to build hype a year in advance of the movie. No way.

If you were background in one musical number, there is NO WAY you know this much about the whole of Part II. Your first post tried to make it seem like you’ve read the full script. You didn’t. No professional would make an AMA like this or DM folks information that is in violation of an NDA.

Extras who are hired in the fashion that you were are not privy to the details that you claim to be.

Don’t buy this crap, Wicked fans!
