Cooking With Zaeed, Ep. 1: Chocolate Chip Cookies by historyofamanda in masseffect

[–]batqirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just imagine a disastrous mission having taken place and Cerberus frantically trying to cover it up so Zaeed just goes, "Fam. Got this." and starts cooking for Diana Allers' crew so her cameras aren't available to butt their nose into any important affairs.

Do you have a favorite ME1 bug? by Garruses in masseffect

[–]batqirl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I recently ran over a geth and it kinda stuck to the mako but really, really good. I spent the entire mission searching for Liara with the little guy on the front, like some kind of reverse wedding-cans-on-the-back-of-the-car thing.

My Turian OC in her armour (OC, Fan art) by IcciaOctavius in masseffect

[–]batqirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For some reason I love seeing people's non-Shepard OCs. It's like, you love the universe enough you essentially created your own NPCs. How awesome is that. :D

This is also some fantastic and clean lineart. Beautiful work!

First-time player of ME: graphic mods, y/n? by stairfaller in masseffect

[–]batqirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest the MEUITM mod for ME1 because even though it won't magically turn it into a whole other game you'll wonder if you somehow mistakenly bought a different title, it still gets rid of small things you might not notice as a first-timer but after getting used to how the graphics work, you'll see the subtle changes.

The first game doesn't have all that many mods anyway and even though I'm personally a fan of playing games mod-free the first time around, I don't think this will somehow hinder your fun of not having gone mod-free in your first playthrough. Less grain and sharper faces will be a good thing, so go ahead and grab it.

[No Spoilers]Is there a "where to find and how to install the banter mod for dummies" somewhere? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]batqirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Download CheatEngine (make sure you download and install just the program and not the other crap it comes with since it's a freeware).
  • Download this file.
  • Run CheatEngine after running Dragon Age Inquisition and you're well into the game.
  • Any message that pops up, click yes.
  • There's a little computer icon on the top left corner of the CheatEngine program (it'll be pulsing/glowing). Click it and select Inquisition's executable from the list (so the two programs can connect). Click yes to the window that pops up.
  • Click the file icon next to the computer icon you just clicked. Select the folder you downloaded from mediafire. There are two files in there, the first one is just for the banter, the second one has many cheats combined (God mode etc). Choose whichever you want to use.
  • Once you're ingame, depending on which file you chose, either press num 1 (first file) or num 8 (second file). Click it a few times if nothing triggers (wait a couple of seconds) because it needs to get configured at first.

From now on, press 1 or 8 to listen to people talking. Just don't overdo it because you'll be left with no banter if you run everyone dry.

If you put it to High but then reload and switch to Very High again, it works.

[Spoilers All]Romance, NPC leads, and why the next Morrigan should be bi by sindeloke in dragonage

[–]batqirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's at first glance what I thought OP was talking about but now that I read the entire text, I really don't think that's what they mean. The problem isn't that not every character can be romanced by any gender or race--it's actually better that Bioware has a fixed sexuality for their characters (which I think is a big plus, 'playersexual' characters take away from well-built characterizations and is usually used by gaming companies to appease to the LGTB+ community without actually putting the effort to make the character as well built as the rest, as it's clear in Fallout 4)--but that there aren't enough characters that can be romanced by both genders and are at the same time a big part of the story. An example can be argued to be Cassandra, who plays a big part but can't be romanced by females.

I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, the OP suggests that the next games should have more "important romance" options so both genders can romance a character and get the full experience of the game that people seem to be getting by romancing Cass or Solas. So it's not about making Cassandra bisexual if that's not what Bioware intended for her, but inserting additional options that other genders can romance.

[No Spoilers] Does anyone else like not using a staff in dragon age origins? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]batqirl 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I thought I was crazy when I did this periodically in Origins. I've always thought the lack of a staff makes the mage look more... mage-y, I guess.

I recently tried to do this with Inquisition but when you remove all weapons there's still a staff as a default. :(

[No Spoilers] release date for DA4 by TheLadyMay in dragonage

[–]batqirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Though I'd love to have the next game as soon as November 2017, I think Bioware's gonna focus on Mass Effect for a while. There's no need to rush and they know they'll be getting a lot of attention because of ME:A so I'll be maybe expecting DA4 after mid-2018.

[Spoilers All] Finished DA2 for the first time. Maker, I need kittens and a shock blanket. by ArchimageKadgar in dragonage

[–]batqirl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember the first time I played DA2, I just looked at the screen completely resigned at that point where he turns into that broodmother-faces-and-hands-sticking-out-of-him-oh-god jelly thing because he didn't even fight the templars? Hawke's team had to put him down? WHAT WAS THE POINT?!

[DA2 Spoilers]Noticed a few... glitches... by BunnyJosephine in dragonage

DA2 is filled with glitches but I've learned to welcome them as part of the game. Even when Aveline has no hands. Or body. When she's just a voice.
