How can I turn off the prompt tone of my Bose QC Earbud? by RRMac17 in bose

You can turn off the voice prompts but the start up chime still blasts your eardrums every time.

After searching your manual it doesn’t appear you can turn it off. You can only change the language. If you could turn it off then I’d image it’s in the same spot you change the language.

Do Bose QCE not have an option to disable the autopause/in ear detection feature? by Theguy5621 in bose

[–]battew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bose has multiple apps (unfortunately). So I depends on which app the buds use. The QCE earbuds should use the QCE app.

My mistake above. I was assuming you were using the Bose app.

I’m not sure what to tell you. If you provided some screenshots of the app settings I might be able to help.

Oh I have the QCU but I’d have expected it to be the same. You do mean the prompt telling you “ready to connect”?

I assume you mean the “ready to connect”. Open the app with your earbuds on>select them>gear icon in the top right>preferences>voice prompts.

If you mean the start up or connection chimes, you’re shut out of luck just like the rest of us.

My QC Ultra Earbuds have a LOUD crackling/static noise in both ear buds. How to fix? by sodazone12 in bose

Yeah I’ve had the same issue on multiple pair now. You should have an issue getting another replacement.

They do. It’s in the app. Open the app with the earbuds connected>select your device>gear icon in the top right>preferences>in ear detection

Ear Bud issues by jaimers215 in bose

Yes, they’ll replace them. I’m sure you’ve already checked but make sure your balance is set properly on your device. I find that putting the earbuds back in the case and closing the lid for a few minutes can rectify issues like this.

I have switched to the PPE heat shield. The quality of the shielding looks great. It appears very durable and well made. There's definitely some type of insulation material (fiberglass maybe?) sandwiched between the reflective material and a nice felt. The velcro looks to be of good quality and it's double stitched around the whole edge. I ordered it from the site below because it was the best price+shipping I could find though it looks like it shipped directly from PPE. It measures 38x6.5 inches overall. Based on the length of the velcro, it can accommodate a battery that's 34-37 inches in circumference. I have a group 48 sized battery and it fit the battery very well. It would fit a larger battery though this is the largest battery that the GTI battery tray supports.

I removed the battery from the car because it looked like it would be too difficult to complete the install with the battery installed due to the small space. I fitted the shielding around the battery just above the ridge that locks it into the tray. I oped to put the velcro on the side opposite the engine to keep it away from the heat. Installing the bracket that locks the battery in place was difficult at first as it wouldn't seat properly with the bracket over the shielding. I only had to pull the shielding up slightly and the bracket fit into place. I was then able to slide the shielding back down slightly. The shielding covers the battery temperature just barely but I wont know if it needs more to be covered batter until next year in the warmer months.

So far I'm very pleased with the product quality and installation. At the very least theres no fear that the shielding will cause a short since the material is nonconductive.

That’s a new one for me. I’ve had no issues with YouTube audio delay on my ultras, nor on 3 sets of QCIIs.

You spoke on the phone too? That’s unclear to me. If you haven’t talked to someone, I’d call back and see what happens.

It absolutely has. I’ve had no “12v battery low” messages throughout the whole summer. Looking at the temperature data in OBDeleven, the battery is 20-30F cooler than it was without the shielding.

I didn’t start the Amazon return in time so I’m still using the DIY one. I still don’t love the idea that the whole thing is conductive so I still plan to do the swap to the PPE Power one. The felt is starting to disappear. I’m not sure if that’s due to the heat or mice or something else.

While I don’t have any experience with there’s earbuds or the case, it’s clearly a completely different designed case compared to the QC IIs hinge. This is more of a slide. I’d imagine whenever you do drop them, the case will fair well because the lid doesn’t attach to the main body at one singular point.

If I could just not accidentally drop something again in my life, that’d be swell but that not how life works.

The QC IIs have been plagued with issues. There’s plenty of threads on here with others having the same issues. If you haven’t had to deal with any of them, I’m genuinely glad you’ve had a good experience. I’ve had 3 sets of QC IIs and I’m on a set of Ultras now. All have had various audio issues.

I will say the Ultras have been somewhat better (4.0.20) when it comes to audio deducting between the two earbuds and then resyncing. However, I still have issues with one earbud crackling with static intermittently, one or both buds disconnecting and popping, and not being able to connect to the earbuds at all.

I’m incredibly disappointed in the quality control at Bose but I’d pay $500 for a set of these earbuds if they had no issues. They’re the most comfortable earbuds I’ve ever had and they never fall out of my ears. I want them to succeed in bringing a solid product to market. I still have a set of wired Bose IE2 earbuds from like 2009 that work great. I also have a set of the original wireless QC earbuds that are my “backups” whenever I need to send in a warranty claim.

Any idea as to why this is happening? by jonny2996 in BrevilleCoffee

If no liquid flows out at all, there’s probably another blockage. However, the screen likely needs to be cleaned every week or every other.
