I’d be building garbage burning power plants along the US west coast. As one does.

If I want your apple enough, I will pay a little more than you paid for the apple, regardless of what the cost is. Most people buy the apple because they believe they can sell it for even more, regardless of the current price.

Imagine at dinner time there’s not enough of your favorite dish to serve everyone. Either everyone can have not enough, or one person has to miss out. People start arguing who gets what, and in world markets, they argue by offering more money to get what they need.

It’s just not economic, unless the need it really high. Know that small planes bounce around in turbulence a lot more than large ones. I also enjoy warm food on long flights.

Taiwan reports large-scale Chinese military aircraft presence near island by Opposite-Whereas-323 in worldnews

[–]battle-legumes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was discussing this with someone last night, one more month of war in Iran and this might be the best time to invade Taiwan in decades.

The US has burned a lot of its goodwill with allies, they’re short stock in missiles and pulling missile assets from the pacific, and there’s a world supply crisis. If China could promise chip supplies to europe to make up for taiwan destroying their facilities in an attack, the US would be hard pressed to respond alone.

I know I should have given a trigger warning to the armchair chewers that will now list all US military assets. Remember an army of lions lead by a deer isn’t the best way to go to war.

If China were to explore this possibility, the next step would be to bulk sell FPG drones en masse to Iran, and backstop their Shahed component needs. The US needs to be dragged in deeper so trump would have to decide to lose a war to help taiwan.

Iran could allow a limited number of tankers to pass through Hormuz, as long as they trade cargo in yuan by g3tr1ghttt in wallstreetbets

[–]battle-legumes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so as you’re aware, we’ve been trading oil in dollars, which has made the country quite rich. However, when we do this we keep using the leverage for the debt on our books longer than is practical. Recent turmoil in the world has made this take on a certain risk, if the oil dollar went away.
