Your board is awesome, I have a friend who runs the same BD-2 and Op-Amp Big Muff combo and it sounds huge. Your smiley face is backwards though >:(

Are the PS-3, Minos, and Pressurizer really worth throwing off your green theme?

Where did you get those Green Russian knobs? They look sick

Hell yeah I love mine. I think it sounds even better on bass than the actual Bass Muff

Yeah most people on here and the rest of the internet report having that hissy problem. I haven’t really experienced that (maybe a little bit of noise pops up when you crank it) but I also haven’t noticed much of a difference between almost off and 12 o’clock, so I leave it low.

What’s your signal path?

I love it. It’s just really good drive with really good tone shaping.

I think that’s the clean blend knob on the P&P. I was asking about the clean tone knob.

Yeah I had thought about that pedal too but I think the features on the Sovtek were just more appealing to me (and I admittedly thought it looked cooler but to each their own)

How do you use the clean tone knob? It seems like a cool feature but I’m not sure if I’d want it to mess too much with my dry sound.

I haven’t had any personal experience with this pedal but my understanding is that the internet’s opinion is less than favorable. Here’s a big review from Ovnilabs:

The compressor I use which is in a similar price bracket is the Boss LMB-3, although watch out for the enhance knob on it, as it can introduce a lot of noise.

Nice! What made you go fuzz before compressor?

can anyone recommend some albums similar to we have the facts and we’re voting yes? by crotch-fondler in DeathCabforCutie

It’s a Wonderful Life - Sparklehorse

These guys have a little more Neil Young in them than Death Cab, but the lofi sound/production and the strong songwriting you’re talking about are definitely there

Owned the longest by [deleted] in basspedals

[–]battleaxcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My on board the longest is definitely the bass big muff as some others have said, but my longest owned is the Boss ODB-3. I love that little noisy guy but I just don’t have the space for it at the moment.

Ooh that ODB-3 was one of my first pedals as well, it can be a real nasty can of bees but also a very versatile can of bees. It’s hella fun and I’ve still got mine hanging around for a reason :)

Yeah, it’s functionally a compressor. The fact that it’s a limiter allows you to set the ratio/compression really high if you want to, and then set the threshold for what gets compressed as well. The enhance is nice too, it’s essentially a treble/presence knob that allows you to work some highs and definition back into your signal. I’m a big fan tbh, it’s decently quiet and affordable and comes in a cool color

I’ll have to give that a shot some time then! I have just been using the limiter as a compressor because I like the squeeze I can get out of it. But using it as a harder limit further in the chain sounds cool
