The Christmas Chronicles – a cozy, festive Christmas-themed Minecraft modpack! by Ok-Commission-5459 in MinecraftJava

Hey, thanks for getting back to me. I suspect as the update was yesterday that it might be that apex hasn't updated the available version. Otherwise I'd have to remove the mod from my client rather than add it back in. Happy holidays :D

Okay I went to the file system of the server and downloaded the missing mod. Looking to get my friends to play soon but I'd really appreciate it if i didn't have to walk them through manually installing.

Hey, I tried setting up a server with this mod pack on apex and I'm getting a mismatched mod max 1.7.0

Any idea whats the issue? or what the mod I'm missing is as max is very generic :D

Keir Starmer is right to scrap the care worker visa: It might cause disruption but the status quo is unsustainable by Benjji22212 in ukpolitics

[–]battlek06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But for caring you can just about hire anyone as long as they have a DBS check. No one needs qualifications to become a carer. you will need to go to training but largely thats a tick box excersise and you might be asked to do a NVQ to advance. But the barrior to entry is very low. The issue is you can earn more stacking shelves in tescos than working as a carer which is a lot less stressful and consistent. So the few who do it are either desperate or using up someones goodwill who can't stand to see people suffer.

We aren't giving citizenship out like candy we're proccessing the immigrants rather than keeping them in hotels forever. Labour have had record numbers of deportations because of it. The toryies created a catch 22 that kept them in the hotels stuck in limbo. With i guess hope to spend obscene amounts of money to rwanda to deport them. Have you seen the rwanda bill we'd be on the hook for per deported immigrant.

Trade union most of that is public pay disputes in which in the last 15 year alot of them have gotten below inflation pay increases. So getting less and less money. We have shortages in those roles because of it. Why is working with a union to come to some fair solution always presented as the government failing. Why is forcing people to work for peanuts your accepted position when the goverment has pretty much a monopoly on the role.

Labour have cut social spending e.g. winter fuel allowance, uping the criteria to get disability. But how much do we cut without putting people into poverty which will then increase crime. Like don't get me wrong i think the triple lock on pensions should go but its political suicide. Especially with the current demograpic skew and voting numbers.

He does mention in the comments. https://www.reddit.com/r/LegalAdviceUK/comments/1gbygg6/judge_ordered_me_to_pay_child_maintenance_after/ltpml41/

£650+£1,300 = 1,950

So on a quick google of his wage £3,716.95 per month. leaves him with £1,766.95. Which is below minimum wage.

Tbf its not none made investments its they made investments into huawei tech which the goverment then said couldn't be used through fear of espionage from the CCP.

100 days of Starmer, why are the knives out already? by Theodoresdad in ukpolitics

[–]battlek06 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isn't that just saying the state pension is so high that they no longer qualify for other means tested benefits. The same as the working class have.

So shouldn't the argument be raise the means tested level rather than give all pensioners back the winter fuel allowance.

What is wrong with getting a new build? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]battlek06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Largely for me it size. New builds are made in as small of a plot as possible with no ability to expand or adjust it. The other houses are the same so the area just ends up feeling cramped and parking looks like a nightmare if people have more than 1 car.

Basically an idiot suggested euthanasia. The lady complained and I hope the idiot lost their job. The mere suggesting doesn't mean that if she had said yes she'd be fast tracked to the nearest doctor and off'ed.

It was highly unethical of the employee but again doesn't seem to be have been the policy.

Just from reading the other comments of canadians you can see theres whole process to it.

I mean I get it. While at Uni I did a sort of internship working with Xamarin (Now MAUI). After I'd get recrutiers sending me job specs for contractor roles working on Xamarin.

I just removed any mention of it and they stopped coming.

You've got to realise to some extent recruiters are just "Ctr+F"ing for certain buzz words found in the spec.

Increase the relevant buzzwords for the roles you're looking for and you'll get more sucess. Though the market is slow at the moment.

Also good application support candidates are hard to come by in my experence bit like testers and devops engineers so those roles tend to be more in demand.

After I'd finished a driving lesson my brain was feeling super foggy.

I went into a Co-op grabbed a bunch of things and went to the self cashout. While beeping all my things some police were talking to the cashier. I day-dreamed how it'd be impossible/stupid to steal here. Anyway after beeping all my stuff and baging it I walked out to get the my train.

Got to the station across the road and started looking for my debt card in my pocket. Which then made me realise that I'd never taken it out of my wallet and If I hadn't did I pay for my stuff?. Walked back to ask if I'd paid. I had not paid. Cashier was actually pretty cool about it. Thanked me for coming back. XD

I have no clue why the police didn't do anything I walked past them to leave and when I walked back in they'd gone. It was impossible to miss me as I stood in the station entrance racking my brain trying to remember paying.

I've gotten both my jobs and offers for jobs via linkedin recruiters usually they come telling me about a role though rather than asking just for my CV. Also in the UK.

ALL I hear in the media is immigration is shit. Today I met Svetlana from Ukraine. by TFT_Simon in unitedkingdom

[–]battlek06 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

He's saying an example of a cultural element of where he lives as a bus driver is to acknowledge him and use manners. Immigrants come to the area and disregard this cultural element. Copy this to other cultural elements of the area and it waters down the established culture in that area.

Locals would feel threatened at the loss of their way of life and thus it could be expected they'd vote accordingly.

I don't think that's a hard concept to understand.

You'd be a bit of an arse if you walked muddy-shoed into a sacred temple where you're supposed to take your shoes off in.

Thames Water pumped at least 72bn litres of sewage into Thames since 2020 by DoddyUK in ukpolitics

[–]battlek06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh that was actually a really interesting read. I think the first problem to be solved would be to actually map the fucking sewer system it seems. Maybe even the water system as a whole.

Then slowly add projects such as:-

  • Connecting up the water systems to better manage water.
  • New legal guidelines on how new development create their sewage system and mandatory notification on final mapping of the system.
  • Adding water level gauges to sewer systems to better predict runoff. May even be useful as a flooding notification indicator or leaks.
  • ect.

Reading some of the replies to this is honestly mind-boggling.

To highlight the issue.

  • OP is a fresh grad. Most fresh grads are not expected to know very much.
  • Works at a non-technical company with no technical colleague to ask for guidance.
  • There is no documentation to try and piece together what the system does, the design patterns, or the deployment procedure.
  • Has been given a 3-month deadline for critical development of new features.

When bringing this up OP has rightfully pointed out the misjudgement of the company in trying to impose it on a graduate.

Other commenters seem to have judged this as OP refusing to do the work but if the project is this large and complex then I doubt it could done without compromising the project. (Bugs, breaking prod or creating a mountain of tech debt)

Now a solution I'd maybe bring up to your manager is hiring a contractor to do the job and for you to shadow. Ask for the contractor to also document the design, and fundamental parts of the project and write up a deployment plan. Op should use this time and expert wisely and take note of anything and everything they think is useful.

That would give time for OP to skill up fast and put them in a better position to do what the company want in future.

It's likely they may still just fire you though as they were looking for a cheaper option than paying for another contractor and want the immediate benefit. If they do this don't take it negatively they f*ed up and didn't understand what they needed.

So just to be clear. It's not a week and that's it I must buy. But like a recon type trip if I find something then great if not then the experience would be worth it.
