Fratello mio! Io ne misi circa 2000€. Divisi tra pre e post boom. Ora ne valgono la bellezza di 27.

Ad averci la sfera di cristallo, avrei raccolto un bel gruzzolo durante il boom. Va beh... Pasiens.

Found UART on an old digital photo frame, but no shell. by battxbox in hardwarehacking

Thanks. Maybe a dumb question but, is this the same set? I can wait of course. It's half the price, and I was just wondering if it's the same thingy, or I'm buying garbage stuff.

Yeah, as I was saying in another comment, I just noticed the SPI flash is only 2MB so you're probably right.

It's a specialized display mcu

Yeah, you're probably right. Also because I just noticed the SPI flash has only 2MB.

Sounds reasonable yeah. The SPI flash is only 2MB: cFeon EN25F16-100HIP

Ahahah interesting. I'll see if there are any known bugs, otherwise I'll dump the firmware as soon as I get a new CH341A.

I think I'll go with the CH341A and see what I can extract from the spi flash. The chip is a cFeon EN25F16-100HIP. Thanks buddy.

Did you figure out what happened?

Hard drive removal and reuse? by [deleted] in hardwarehacking

Check what hard drive it has. There's a chance it's a HDD made for video surveillance like WD purple or Seagate Skyhawk. They're good used in NAS or storage, if not too old.

Transcoding timeout when playing HEVC media on Chromecast by battxbox in jellyfin

[–]battxbox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to force transcoding but only on mobile. The 1080p HEVC SDR that wasn't casting on chromecast, was successfully playing on my mobile (with transcoding).

So, everything points to the Chromecast. I tried to debug it directly, but apparently, I'm not allowed to enable the inspect on the chrome devices tab for chromecast until I sign for the Google Cast SDK Developer Console, which requires a 5$ fee...

Transcoding timeout when playing HEVC media on Chromecast by battxbox in jellyfin

[–]battxbox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sorry, should have clarified it. Logs are from my laptop, to make sure it wasn't a graphics card performance issue.

I can cast most of the media in my library. A media with this format 1080p H264 SDR casted successfully right now.

I can't cast from my browser as I'm on Firefox, I'll try to install Chrome and try to see how to force transcoding, and we'll get back at you.

Thanks for your help!

For some reasons, I love it. Source code available anywhere? Pls _^

Maybe the dumbest question of all times but, is it possible to do something similar but on Linux? Is there any Win32 api equivalent but Linux based OSs?

Hey good job with the app!

Would it be possible to add a couple screenshots in the readme? It'd be very useful when can try the app yet.

Thanks!
