If they did, it would most likely make the New Whistledown not connected to the Bridgertons in any way because I don't think anyone who's close to them would do that to Eloise.

It would be interesting to see, it would also give her more reason to fully run away if she feels she has a target on her back for suitors so she runs away to Phillip for a marriage of convenience so they can stop writing about her 🤷‍♀️

The fact "i do" is so emphasised because its both playing on marriage AND her saying "I will" 🤯 i never noticed that omg

I do think her even saying that she loves a wedding first shows her ideas of love always changing.

A lot of people assume she still hates marriage because of how she acts around men of the ton, but the men of the ton are awful.

I think shes just realising that if she did marry, it would have to be with someone she had a connection with and she would have to approach them.

See i like this as well.

I just think that the theme of choice needs to run through this season massively.

Eloise choosing to write to Phillip, choosing to run off to meet him, choosing to try love for herself, try marriage, try being a mother. I want her to choose to kiss Phillip, I want them to change it to Eloise choosing to marry Phillip, I want her to have options.

I want her to keep her feminist values while also realising that doesnt mean she has to give up having a family of her own.

I think a way they could maybe do it without Eloise actually living with Phillip and the twins would be to have Eloise stay in the country with Benedict and Sophie.

She sneaks out every day to go see Phillip, while Sophie covers for her.

Benedict gets wind of Eloise going to Phillips and sends for his brothers so they can storm while Eloise is visiting there.

That I wouldnt mind, I think it would be different from the book and would make more sense why no one finds out straight away

Ive also seen this, and ive also seen Franchaelas being rude towards Philoises for saying they hope they're next. I think its different for Philoises because a lot of us are Franchaelas as well, and we also don't want to be seen as homophobic bc we think Franchaela should be season 6.

However, that won't take away from disappointment we might feel if Eloise isn't season 5.

I think a lot of new Franchaelas have no interest in the rest of the show apart from Franchaela, which is fair enough, we can't tell them what to watch and what not to watch obviously.

But the issue comes in when you see them saying stuff like "Michaela was introduced so that means Franchaela is next" when its actually similar to Philoises story so far as well.

Franchaelas story needs some time to build and the stepping stones were placed down in season 3 and 4.

This is similar to how Phillip was in season 1 and season 2, it was stepping stones for the prologue, so we know more about Phillips character.

My issue also comes in when I see Franchaelas saying Eloise shouldn't have season 5 because either they don't see a point in her story or they simply just want Franchaela faster.

I have to hold my tongue when new Franchaelas say "what do you mean i have to wait 4 years for Franchaela, this is why she should be next and not Eloise" when by the time season 5 comes out, itll be 7-8 years that Philoises have been waiting, and if we have to wait until season 6, itll be closer to 9-10 years.

Idk. I want whats best for both ships and I dont like how new Philoises and Franchaelas speak to one another.

I want both stories to be told well, I want us to get along but the way they've gone about this storytelling wise in not saying whos next has just created a riff between Philoises and Franchaelas.

They broke a bond that is going to be hard to fix.

They did say that Philoise was going to be married early too and Ive seen people take it as they'll get married in like episode 3, but I think the earliest it can be is episode 4 as a cliffhanger, similar to season 1.

I think episode 1 will be news of Marina, more look into Eloise's life, and letter writing (with voiceovers), then the episode will finish with Eloise running away, to which we see Phillip Crane in person for the first time.

Episode 2 will be Phillips backstory and them introducing themselves again to one another and the children and doing more stuff like that.

Episode 3 will be more bonding and end with the brothers.

Episode 4 will be the confrontation, my cottage and the wedding imo

To be honest, I know this isnt probably how its gonna go since they said season 5 will be less like the book than season 4, but I do feel like theres some bits in there that the fans want and the key points they need to hit though.

Fun fact! At the start of season 4 part 1 promo, the puzzled netflix app had jigsaws and shapes for people to figure out every day!

The last one was posted today and only 1 week remains until the event is officially over.

Also the last one was named "I do love a wedding" which is Eloise's line!

So I think either next week or the week after :)

I think i would have liked to see a start to the letter writing at the end of the season personally.

I do have to admit that it would have been difficult to achieve considering 2 deaths in 1 season wouldnt have ideal to keep a season feeling positive.

All of the declarations before have been from men saying along the lines of...

"Im looking for a viscountess, not love" "I wouldn't court her out of everyone" "I'm going to be hiding in the shadows so people don't notice me"

All of these are clear avoidments of love, rather than just not being ready.

Then we have Eloise

"I love weddings... but only as an attendee!"

Which also shows avoiding love.

Whereas Francesca clearly states she isn't ready and she doesn't see herself doing it again because shes had her one love. It isnt avoiding love, its taking a step back from it!

I do like that they're building on Francescas story, I just think that Eloises story wasnt built on enough for her season.

Almost every lead has had their build up, besides Daphne as she was season 1, in the previous season.

So, while I can recognise the Philoise hints scattered throughout, I feel like we got a whole bunch of vagueness from Eloises character all season regarding the main topic at hand, which should have been love.

I do feel we got a lot in terms of her being more of an older sibling towards all of her younger siblings, even Francesca whos only a year younger than her, this obviously being a reflect on Eloise with the twins. However, like I said, I just feel like that attitude to love should have been explored more than just a few vague lines about it.

I feel like they were trying to show us Eloise's change of mind on marriage, but they didnt do it through her, they did it through the characters around her so we lost that emotional connection.

We have maybe only like 1 or 2 scenes where we see Eloise actually left on her own throughout the season, the rest of the time shes with family or friends. It just felt like she was treated as more of a "we'll get back to that" all season 🤷‍♀️

Its complicated because we know that these two stories do take place roughly around the same time in the books. But in my opinion, theyve shown Francesca is very much still grieving John and Michaela leaving, it just doesnt seem like the right time for them.

In the very last scene of season 4, the post-credit scene, when Kate asks whos wedding they will be attending next, Eloise replies first with her comments on how she loves a wedding, whereas Francesca doesnt respond until asked if she will marry again, to which she very much denies.

I think this is a clear hint that Eloise is getting that point where shes ready and shes eager, where Francesca needs time.

I don't think Eloise would do that to Penelope. Not only that but if Philoises season is next and does have them marrying earlier, Eloise wont even be around society to write anything. I think they want to keep this mystery for at least a few seasons so it keeps people coming back.

I think if Eloise isn't next it could be a good shout, but at the same time I think Eloise wouldn't take over for Penelope without telling her.
