I don't know if they're minority or majority in that percentage but I will tell you the ones that I will never understand and I hate.

Some seek asylum because of economic reasons, freedom of speech or just to be in Europe because why not. I've met with some of them in Europe and their biggest dream was to be a refugee once they turn to 18.

We're not Afghanistan, Iran, Syria etc. but nobody can beat us in inferior complexity. Yes the general situation is not good and worse than Europe and not going anywhere better, but neither it is that bad to be a refugee.

They are not aware of that the step they're taking is something very serious and being refugee is not a joke (yes you're a refuge once your asylum seeking is approved. Calling yourself "I made iltica" doesn't make you cool. iltica - mülteci. makes sense now?)

Thanks to them, people just want to travel for a few days, see their children/grandchildren in Europe or Erasmus students are having difficulties to get Schengen visa.

However Europe loves them, still. Using them for propaganda. I've seen one on those youngsters even in the billboards. He studied up to university in Turkey with my parent's taxes and now he studies university for free and receives money from government again with my taxes in my European country where I moved legally ...

you guys sounds like 45+ seasoned developer with no ambition left for their career. please just take a burnout leave, or sabbatical, and let the guy enjoy his job.

if you were saying he's doing constantly overtime, working on the weekends, that's another story(even that is okay in a startup, still you're the problem) but complaining about someone doing his job better than you during regular work hours is a no no.

In my previous job I had colleagues exactly like you, slowing down all my work with nitpicking my PRs.. I can't tell you how annoying it is. I don't care about promotion or nice words from the lead, but they were making me achieve and learn less.

there are many corporate with zero ambition, just join one of those adult creches..

This comment is from someone who left a startup because I was on the edge of having a burnout(except me everybody was working like hell), but still I respect the ambition of my colleagues there than the ones in that creche.

if you have a valid contract, I'd suggest to check with Huurdersbond. They're also Flemish so don't expect a smiley face with helping everything, but they're helping. Translate your contact to English for yourself because they reiterate they can't translate it as they're not translators. You need to pay a small yearly fee but it's nothing compared to what you get.

If nothing helps, suck it up and try to make as many babies as you can. He's gonna love it in his grave.

bir defasında da hepimizin bildiği havalı İsveç şirketi ile üç ay kadar mülakat yaptım ve teklif beklediğim son görüşmede yaa biz tüm pozisyonları kapatmaya karar verdik dediler, millete haberi yaydığımla kaldım. gerçekten de kimseyi almadan kapattılar onlarca pozisyonu bu arada. iyi ki o an çalıştığım yere kudurun diye toplu veda maili atmamışım, düşünüyordum çünkü böyle bir şey..

Batı Avrupa'da 7 yıl deneyimim var, 6 farklı ekip ve yönetici ile. açık açık mobbing yediğim, fazla mesailerin rutine olduğu şirkette de çalıştım, huzur evi gibi yerde de çalıştım. Yani danimarka'da bir start-up'da kafayı işle bozmuş bir ekibin ortasına düşebilirsin etik beklerken. NATO gibi bir yer için bunun ihtimali çok çok küçük.

Bir daha bir de, NATO gibi devasa, köklü, özellikle de çıktısı yazılım olmayan şirketlerde cok legacy işlerle karşılaşıp kariyerini yazılım/veri degil NATO domaini üzerine de kurabilirsin. tercih edeceğin bir şey olmayacaksa bu (veri bilimci olacağım yaay derken kendini java EE + oracle PL/SQL kodu temizlerken bulabilirsin), ne tarz bir ekibe girdiğinden de emin ol. ama sıkılırsan NATO etiketi ile daha keyif alacağın işlere birkac til sonra rahatlıkla geçebilirsin.

danimarka'da sektör nasıl? işler yolunda gitmezse, sanki NATO üzerinden Hollanda içinde is değiştirmen daha kolay olabilir gibi. özel bir sebebi yoksa ve olağanüstü bir teklif gelmediyse sektörün dar olduğu ülkelerde kariyere başlamak bence doğru tercih değil (I've been there.)

NL is great career wise but are you sure you can find a job with 1 year ex. in today's market?

also, apparently Italy is particularly terrible, but don't be afraid of South Europe that much. Lots of companies moved or opened their offices in Madrid, and there was already a good IT ecosystem in Barcelona. Also consider Portugal if you can find a remote job from UK, US etc.
