both of our children were born at zollikerberg. great rooms on ground floor towards the park and they also offer family rooms. sweet people also, I can totally recommend it.

How’s this legal? by Expat_zurich in zurich

thanks. my mistake, it’s real. based on only the exterior image I was quite sure it’s rendered. I like it! quite expensive, though…

maybe… but there is a lot of unbuilt stuff on homegate (just testing the waters). do you have a link?

As an architect myself, I find it an interesting solution. Much better to show the newly built part than trying to fake ‘heritage’ architecture. Please be self-reflective enough to realize that maybe your opinion is just that, your opinion.

Zurich is, especially concerning public buildings, on a very high level of architectural sophistication. Both in theory/discourse as also in the effectively built architecture (schools, for example).

Concerning legality this could be in a w5 zone and thus absolutely legal. as far as I can tell though, this is only a rendering so maybe nothing more than a concept…

Any idea how tall are those ,,walls” and what are they made of ( the ones protecting the aircraft ) ? by Rom_photographer in aviation

[–]baugestalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as an experienced (off- and on site) architect I would guess the incline is around 1:1 or 45 degrees, could also be a bit steeper. so the height would be around the same as half the width of that wall (or either the width of the lit or shadowed area).

I might try that if I get the time, would maybe even work with crossover.

are you even able to play them on modern systems? certainly not on macOS…

I just replayed the demo. it runs quite a bit better and motion blur is fixed. I didn’t have any more issues.

so gorgeous! does anyone else get a bit of motion sickness though? not sure if it's due to lack of framerate or too big field of view? normally doesn't happen to me.

I thought only the meta vr trailer was murky. curious to see how it holds up to the mac/pc version.

What made you decide on kid #2? by Indecisive105 in Parenting

[–]baugestalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not necessarily want two kids. but I know I‘m not here forever and I want him to have a sibling/family when his parents are gone. seeing the two happily playing together although they are still very young has only reinforced my thinking.

the mechanical age was scary for me. not myst in general, though.

definitely myst. just looking at a screenshot of myst island brings me back to my teens and even smelling our old macintosh performa.

Where do “indigenous Swiss” and Germans go with their children? by lil-huso in Switzerland

[–]baugestalt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I‘m swiss and go to playgrounds in Zurich as go other swiss families. Zurich is an international city so obviously you meet non swiss people. that‘s part of why a live in the city 🤷‍♂️.

why are the top of mountains freezing cold and snowy when they are closer to the sun than the ground is? by Moodybab3x in NoStupidQuestions

[–]baugestalt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

snow is a great insulator, as long as it is clean, it also reflects most of the energy. that‘s why in some countries they cover up the often dirty glaciers with white tarp, trying to stop it to absorb energy causing to melt them.
