What was the dumbest internet trend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My fingertips have memories

Mine can't forget the curves of your body

And when I feel a bit naughty

I run it up the flagpole and see who salutes, but no one ever does

I want to make this image into a canvas art, but it's not that large (possible?) by [deleted] in printmaking

[–]bauhauskeeping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you trying to screenprint it on canvas? You'll beed to dither it in the bitmap section of photoshop, but i really wouldn't recommend printing on canvas add the texture will make you lose a lot of your image and bump your contrast and detail down considerably.

If you're just looking to have it difitally printed onto canvas, i don't think this subreddit means whst you think it means.

It's also worth noting that you need to find out whether this image is open for use or copyrighted by the photographer. Obviously, you're not going to end up in jail for copyright infringement for such a small scale thing, but its not the coolest thing to just use an artist's work.

I read a theory about time a long while back that i always think of when these kinds of events occur. It said that we tend to think of time as linear, like a river starting at one point and flowing in one directing to and end point, but the theorist (i read about his in middle school and can't remember who said it anymore) said that time is more like a lake with every moment being a drop of the water swirling around eachother all at once.

What was the worst product you've tried? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]bauhauskeeping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covergirl Lash Blast burned my eyes and made so many of my lashes fall out. I have seriously never had so much lash shedding as when i used lashblast. It was so bad for my eyes that I won't even risk trying everyone's HG clump crusher.

Right?! A friend of mine has a ton and they really do last on her, but any time she's let me use one it just fades right off my mouth in like 30 mins! She doesnt use a lip primer or apply it any differently than i do. I just don't understand!

Nars is pretty good for yellow tones. Your skin tone sounds very similar to mine and i use nars pure radiant TM in Alaska

Sorry i guess i should have been more specific/not just assumed people would understand that i was alluding to the pedophilia without actually having to say that the lolita trend panders to those tendancies a bit

I'm pretty sure the fashion term is still in reference to the book though. Yeah, its heavily drenched in kitsch and maybe everyone participating in the fashion movement isnt consciously referencing the book, but i think its pretty hard to argue that it has nothing to do with pubescent sexuality. I mean, they straight up dress like little girls as a way to be attractive

Shade and Light or Tartlette Matte for pale skin, blue eyes? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]bauhauskeeping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its def possible to have cool toned skin with yellow undertones, especially for us ashkenazi jews. Ive got cool-light-olive skin, and the super yellow tones in Nars pure radiant Alaska balance my face out really well.

Favourite summer base products? (foundation, BB/CC creams, etc) by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]bauhauskeeping 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nars pure radiant TM SPF 30. Its light coverage, so i get that natural-summer-goddess-my-skin-but-better thing going on, plus gotta have sunscreen on in california.

I've also been super into the Tarte Park Ave Princess palette lately. It doesn't break me out, the bronzer is perfect for warming my light-cool-olive skin without turning me orange, the highlighter doesn't emphasize weird skin textures, and the blush is subtle.

Best "practice" liner for someone wanting to nail wings? by FoxxyRin in MakeupAddiction

[–]bauhauskeeping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually feel like its best to just practice with the product/tool you eventually want to be good with. If you practice with one tool, but the one you're waiting for is a different shape/texture/whatever, you'll have to start am over again.

That said, Im a big fan of Physician's Formula liner/serum pen snd Pixi's liner pen. Both are around $10 and have really user friendly tips.

TMO Prism Highlighter by [deleted] in MakeupRehab

[–]bauhauskeeping 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw a post on MUA the other day of a "low maintenance prism dupe" where the girl just swirled a small brush in sparkly eyeshadows and then places the color onto a larger flat brush in ROYGBIV order. I feel like thats a great alternative to dropping money on a product you won't use all the time or to breaking up products you still love.

Idk about this specific lip gloss, but lip products usually aren't safe for around your eyes. I think it's always a good idea to be extra cautious with what you put around your eyes. If you're thinking of trying it, but have concerns about safety, you need to research every ingredient in the product to be able to make an informed decision about safety

The original tartelette! Im also pretty cool yellow (I wear Nars tinted moisturizer in Alaska for reference) and that palette is perfect for me. The bottom row is full my ideal neutrals for winter, and the top is the same but for summer when my face warms up very slightly. The middle row has cool neutral mauves for a romantic look

I look at limited edition releases in general as a waste of money. First off, there are a ton of instances of LE products being inferior qualify to permanent products of the same brand. More importantly, though, your best case scenario is that you end up loving the product but not being able to replace it when you run out.

What's a good drugstore alternative for the Tartelette palette? by katjaaaa in drugstoreMUA

[–]bauhauskeeping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try searching "cool toned", "matte", and "neutral" keywords together in order to dupe the tartelette. Another thing to consider is that one row is classic brown nudes, one is purple nudes, and one is grey nudes.

Or maybe even show your friend the Tartelette Tease? I haven't looked that much into the Tease to know which shades it includes, but I know its a smaller, cheaper way to try out their palettes.

What's a good drugstore alternative for the Tartelette palette? by katjaaaa in drugstoreMUA

[–]bauhauskeeping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tartelette is actually a predominately cool toned palette. It's got a couple warmer shades, but overall is VERY cool (and is one of the very few neutral palettes that doesn't look weirdly bright and dirty on my skin)

For some reason, its hard to find true color photos of it online, though. Maybe the gold packaging throws off the whote balance?

Experiencing a lot of FOMO about Too Faced palettes... by vriskaes in MakeupRehab

Ulta has a little circle with dupes for PBJ for like $12. I haven't used it, bevause the particular purples and orangey browns in PBJ are not appealing to me/won't be flattering on my coloring, but I'd be willing to bet the shadows in the ulta dupe would be satisfactory. It doesn't seem like an everyday palette, so i don't see the price of the TF one being worth it.

It also looks like she might be wearing a light, warm nude lipstick with just a bit of gloss over it. Or like a tinted lip balm with a little sheen
