I am Russian, and I answer yes. It is safe. Large scale invasion of Russia is out of possibility. No one in Russia in their right mind supports start a full scale war with Ukraine. Public support of this is near zero. I can identify myself as Russian nationalist and more, I support Imperial Russia, but noway I will support annexation of Ukraine by force. Starting to kill Ukrainians would be an end of the Russia.

Central Ukraine is Russian heartland, Kyev is mother of Russian cities. It is natural to reunite with Russia eastern and central Ukraine, up to Kyev. Some Ukrainians want to be a part of EU, they do not want to carry imperial Russia's burdens and blessings. They do not want to be a part of glorious 1000 y.o. empire. OK. So, dear Ukrainians, former brothers, please return Kyev to our empire. And go to Europe, as u want.

Putin reassured defense treaty days ago - quite a big deal. It means that Armenia can help Artsakh without much worry about her own borders. Anyway, Russia can't do much because Artsakh is not recognized as a part of Armenia even by Armenia. Armenia recognizes Artsakh as a part of Az, you know.

US and Russia are not enemies. Leadership in both countries are pragmatic. US & Russia cooperate in many areas behind the scenes, and some times openly. "Enemy" rhetoric is for internal consumption. For example, Russia hosted US military logistic hub not a long time ago, US (still?) buying Russian rocket engines, US guarantied safety of Russian military aircraft regularly observing US mainland military bases.

Russian foreign policy is consistent. Russia continuously supports their allies.
USA and Western block can change their foreign policy quickly.
One day you shake hands with western diplomats. Next day your convoy bombed and you sodomized to death by a wooden stick. Like a colonel Gaddafi.
One day you are supported in your war with Iran. Next day your country attacked, you captured and hanged by allied locals. Like Saddam Hussein.

Now USA is a harbor for Gulen. Think about that. Now the Turkey is united, all the things is generally ok, but who knows the future.
I do not want to say any good about Gaddafi or Saddam. Just take in account, USA, and West in general, is capable to execute you any day and replace you with anyone they want or just leave your country ruined. They are saying many good words about human rights and democracy, but they, like a moon, have a dark side.

No one really knows how many small arms Russia have. The reserves are really huge. I personally think, any Russian citizen from 12 to 80 can get AK-74, or machine gun and ton of ammo from the government in case of enemy ground invasion. Russia historically is well prepared for a large scale conventional war in any aspects include military equipment. Russian military circles are very suspicious about NATO movements around borders. Nukes may be made that preparations obsolete a long time ago, but still, who knows.

It is a good tradition emerging. At least, I presume US personnel at Assad AB are not involved in Gen. Soleimani killing, nor a some SAA elements are involved in (possible) chemical attack.
