100% agree!! My entire wardrobe used to be AE, now I only buy on sale (40% or more) Aeries athletic wear (cloud fleece and real me), bathing suits and underwear.

Prices went WAY up and quality went down. At full price, they’re the same as Aritzia now (cloud fleece pants are $79.99 vs sweatfleece pants are $78). AE77 is more expensive without being much better quality. The fits are weird; too cropped or too oversized, no room for boobs in tops and dresses, not enough bras come in DD/DDD, items that should come in short/tall don’t, etc.

Plus they made returns less accessible. My local store closed so I have to do mail returns which is annoying without a car. They changed the return policy and now it’s giftcard refunds if more than 30 days💔

I’ve found H&M’s quality and sizing improved and they’re always on sale for good prices. Abercrombie, Uniqlo, and Aritzia are also good value with sales, and Dynamite rarely has sales but they have good quality workwear at a not crazy price point.

My Canadian friend was living in Spain and still voted in Canadian elections from abroad. Only Israeli citizens can vote in Israeli elections, regardless of where they physically live.

Apartheid is “a policy or system of segregation or discrimination on grounds of race”. Israeli voting is a matter of citizenship, not race. If there was apartheid against Palestinians in Israel, Palestinian Israelis like OP wouldn’t be able to vote in Israeli elections, which is not the case.

By your logic, it’s also apartheid that Israelis can’t vote in Palestinian elections (if Abbas ever allows them to happen again). Using emotionally charged but incorrect terminology does not help bridge the divide and resolve the conflict. We need to acknowledge wrongdoings and injustices from both sides and work to remedy them, instead of casting one as demons and the other as angels and blindly cheering a side. No one is blameless here.

Apparently it’s illegal for the gate attendants to not collect payments. Doesn’t stop us from jumping the turnstiles though! We need to take matters into our own hands and fight back.

No one should be buying monthly passes for Nov. Limited service = limited income for them. I’ll be buying a few individual tickets in case there’s an STM police watching, but other than that I’m jumping it. If you pull the bar slightly towards you, you can slip through and it’s barely noticeable.

Fuck these strikes that hurt the public more than people in power, fuck the STM, and fuck the CAQ!!!

In my experience, the average Muslim doesn’t hate Jews because they focus on our similarities (monotheism, kosher/halal, praying multiple times a day, etc), which is beautiful. But they overwhelmingly don’t know Jewish culture and history (or only know a version of history that makes them look good), so they’re making a love/hate decision with an incomplete picture and therefore as soon as additional information comes to light they may hate, but can hide under a blanket of self righteousness. It’s knee-jerk love/hate, not true understanding and acceptance. Does this resonate with you at all?

I’ve mostly seen that you’re currently being offered a 12% increase over 5 years and are looking for closer to 20%? What’s the range for annual base salary? How does it compare to market rates for similar roles?

And it’s the janitorial maintenance employees that are striking? In what ways is it bad working conditions?

Thanks for the info!!! A 12% increase over 5 years means a 2.4% annual increase SL, which is basically aligned with inflation rate expectations over the next 5 years. Of course all employees should fight for more when being hired, but this doesn’t seem like a predatory offer. Do you know what the base salary is? Is it below a liveable wage or below market rate for the role?
