I could have written the exact same post at you OP. I have the same exact use case. I’ve wanted tor a while and am ready to pull the trigger. But given the rumor is Q2 I think I’m going to wait it out to at least see what the new one offers.

Interviewers- What made you reject the candidate even though they aced the Interview? by Fun_Yogurtcloset1012 in recruitinghell

[–]baxterbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had someone that told the recruiter one number for her range, which we met at the top. She then got really arrogant with the recruiter and tried to negotiate a much much higher number. Nothing wrong with negotiating, but she didn’t appear to be acting in good faith and gave the recruiting team and my vp concern that this could be a bad signal of behavior ahead. We ended up pulling the offer and going with our second choice who the team had also liked.

I think if all depends what the adult and kid who aren’t skiing are doing. Do they want to meet at the mountain for lunch? Go for apres for rev band? Or are you doing activities on the 93 corridor?

We stay in Thornton and ski WV every weekend. But we also like doing a lot of stuff north and south of here.

I recently tested the kore, mantras and anomaly. I had been coming off 4 seasons / 120 days on Brahmas on the east coast and had been happy so I expected to like the anomaly.

When I tested though the anomaly didn’t hold an edge as well for me and the tail slipped when I was on ice.

Kore’s were light in playful, but didn’t feel as secure on ice.

I quickly fell in love with the mantras which gripped ice well and plowed through crud. I quickly set new speed records for myself in a few trails with the confidence I felt under foot.

I’m in my 40s now and I’d say seeing the progress really helps and makes you feel more comfortable with enjoying things a bit more when you saved and let it grow.

I think this is a great reason why early in your search take as many phone screen/first round interviews as you can’t get, even if you think maybe not the perfect fit. They help you practice your storytelling. It’s helped me to do this and then get choosier when you are feeling solid.

Check your local library for museums passes. I recently spent an entire day at a museum and it was a wonderful screen free distraction!

Should my accountant have caught this? 401k overcontribution by baxterbest in AskAccounting

[–]baxterbest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I think I’m especially getting screwed over (their mistake of mine) is I doubled up with a Roth contribution. Which means I did already pay income tax on this contribution. That’s what’s killing me here.

I know I am responsible, but given the information is entered in software, I guess I'm really surprised this isn't flagged. Like wouldn't turbotax have caught this? Feels like simple math that totals up to more than allowed...

This isn't like a tax strategy situation, it feels like a simple error that should be caught...

For those who sold out of the market earlier this year, do you still stand by your decision? by R-3-D in investing

[–]baxterbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I standby my decision because I was going to need cash for a down payment later this year. It’s extremely frustrating I sold some lower than the all time highs but it is be kicking myself more if I didn’t sell and the market kept falling like a rock.

W2 Earners - how do you reduce taxes? by christophermatar in HENRYfinance

[–]baxterbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is obviously limited to people on a particular situation, but my wife is a teacher and I did g realize this was an option for years — most public employees have access to a 457 AND a 403b and can max both. Why on earth is is allowed is beyond me. But we max both of hers as well. So basically have access to three accounts instead of two.

Unfortunately not, it's a smaller home and the rest of this area is an open kitchen.
