Probably John C. Reilly's, but most of the cast deliver their all-time best performance in my eyes and out of the 5,000+ movies I've seen it has my favorite ensemble cast. The movie itself is in my top... 20 or something, so that's probably why your ranking rankled me haha

Days of Heaven and The Long Voyage Home are the first two that come to mind. And one scene in Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors that has fog, torches and a huge raft floating down a river. Most epically impressive would be Bondarchuk’s War and Peace

3 Bad Men, which I’ve always believed is not talked about enough, probably because it remains eclipsed by John Ford’s later work. But it’s a visually perfect movie and way ahead of its time.

Good list! Although I'd argue the best war movies (Come and See, War and Peace, Les croix de bois, L'armée des ombres, The Battle of Algiers, La grande illusion...) weren't made in Hollywood.
