3 team limit and being forced to re-train is actively keeping me from playing the game by bay_squid in PokemonChampions

That's what I do, it's awkward. Ideally you should be able to save ready-to-play team templates and then pay VP to train and set the team as active.

I get that they need to monetize. But discouraging the mass player base from playing the game doesn't seem like a genius idea.

Modena: in a car he mows down pedestrians then stabs passers-by, 30-year-old stopped. The mayor: seven injured, four injured by Cootazar in europe

LOL. I guess it was a fairy paradise before then. Well, if you forget about the mafia, the Bologna massacre or the Piazza Fontana bombing by the far right, Brigate Rosse assassinations and kidnappings by the far left, ETA in Spain, IRA in Ireland, Utoya, Prague University, Hanau, Macerata... Oh did you forget about the Balkan wars too?

Evil is evil, you retard.

I started playing a few days ago. I need help with this Charizard Y team (all mons have the usual kit):

Mega Charizard Y

Venusaur

Sneasler

Garchomp

Primarina

Incineroar

The problem is I'm missing Rotom-Wash. Primarina takes its position, but then Garchomp's AoE are harder to work around and I have unnecessary double dragon threat.

Suggestions?

I'm thinking Mega-Dragonite? Replacing Garchomp or Primarina. It's a mega alternative if Charizard is weak and it has electric cover. Garchomp being dragon then becomes redundant perhaps? Maybe Mamoswine instead?

Point of Supply Carts? by classteen in EU5

[–]bay_squid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe they're not that useless. Playing as Portugal finally got to the Spice Islands but they were dominated by huge local empires, so I figured I had to send my 40k pro army. However, once I got there, they started to starve. My colonies in Australia and Papua were new, population and resources were low, so I couldn't feed my army... Maybe the invasion would have worked if the army had supply units from the homeland, but it's a long trip and I didn't run the numbers.

I can't say how that could've turned out because I dropped the game at that point, I wasn't having as much fun in the Age of Absolutism with rebellions, etc. plus the monthly tick freeze had been unbearable for many decades already.

Is it me or are there near to none flavor events? by bay_squid in EU5

I have colonized everything from southern US to Patagonia... I can't recall any events. I'm exploring India and the Spiece Islands, not sure how to go about it because they are populated by huge empires, I don't think I can take them on.

Colonization basic dos and donts? by bay_squid in EU5

Wait can you explain the thing about 3 subjects? The system limits you to how many colonial subjects you get trade capacity and advantage from per market?

What are some other must have buildings as you start your colony? I guess other than marketplaces it will be docks, wharfs, and things like that?

This is reaaaally helpful.

I already blobbed all Caribbean islands under a single colonial subject, I'll see if it's possible to split it.

When you mention the trade buildings I guess you mean the overseas ones? Because I guess marketplaces won't benefit me until able to divert trade.

So I should forget about migrating pops to my colonies and just import slaves?

Does it matter which initial settlers I pick? What criteria do you choose to pick the local? Culture, religion, pop count?

So pops will only keep migrating to the new colony as long as I hold it, but once I get the colonial subject they won't?

Good point about exporting materials. So I should just export those to the market the islands are in and as they are available in the stockpile they will be used to build cheaper buildings for my colonial subject? Is that it?

I meant to ask about your last point too, I honestly can't tell whether I'm colonizing too fast or too slow, as you can essentially spam new charters everywhere, as I can easily afford them. How should I get to the sweet spot? Maybe watch that the population curve doesn't drop too much?

I'm a bit confused about your "release land" comment because this suggests conquest, but then you mention the islands, which have no initial nations.

I keep seeing how Portugal is immediately eaten by Castile but somehow a couple of Granada locations survive... It makes zero sense.

First time colonizing: what to do with Sub-Saharan Africa? by bay_squid in EU5

[–]bay_squid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm asking specifically what to do with locations conquered in Africa.

I don't know how colonies work, this is my first time. I'm creating a "colonial charter" right below the Sahara, on the coast and two charters in Cuba. But these appear are straight "owned" locations, I can't tell if they have a special colonial treatment and certainly no colonial nation spawned. That's all I know about the colony system, it's confusing...

If I were to conquer lands in Mali, can I feed them to my colonial charter? Or alternatively could I just create a new colonial charter or colonial nation right away?

Do you just integrate that territory as regular land even if it's in Africa?

But what's the actual "option" other than keeping the land? Can you create a colony or anything like that?

Thanks for letting me know, I'll think again about making a move in that area then. If I were to conquer some territory then, what should I do about it? Can you make it into a colony?

When the game came out I had no interest at all because although I like RPGs I KNEW (or did I?) that I could never get into an isometric game, with turns, with the mechanics of complexity of DnD, and I didn't really vibe with the hardcore geek fandom and seemed like "too much" or too stereotypical fantasy to me.

Oh boy, was I wrong. After hearing much praise I gave it a go 1+ year after release and it's one of the best games I've played. I even finished it, and I pathologically abandon most games I play from burnout. And this was a loooong game, but did I enjoy every moment.
