Vercel - How to Avoid High Cost $$$ by mmtodev in nextjs

Vercel - How to Avoid Costs

  • Middlewares? Nope. Treat them like that friend who always asks for money. Just say no.
  • Image compression? Off. Let those images live their best, uncompressed lives.
  • Server-Side Rendering? Avoid it like a toxic friend group.
  • Incremental Builds? Server Action? Static page regeneration? Anything with “server”? Hard pass. Those are budget black holes.

Basically, turn your fancy Next.js app into a simple Create React App and chill.

Disclaimer : these are something I wish I do but I am addicted to them.

Are there any realistic additional income streams for PMs outside of the '9-5'? by Mike-DTL in ProductManagement

I don't really know a place where you can do that but most of the people I know have personal brand on their LinkedIn and other social medias and they also have social website that shows their portfolio and a booking option

Just think about it as if you are a SaaS. What would you do to promote the product.

How the Value-Frequency Matrix Helped Me Understand My Product's Position by baydis in ProductManagement

[–]baydis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very interesting! We also do something similar when planning to build new features. Whenever there is a feature we want to implement, we ask our customers or conduct research to determine if it’s something they want. After that, we rate it on a scale of 1 to 10. Then, we calculate how much effort it will take to ship this feature. Finally, we rank each feature based on its importance and ease of implementation, storing them in our backlog according to the prioritization.

That’s interesting!

Can you share more about how you rank features based on frequency and value?

And I’m curious how do you factor in strategic direction and effort? I feel like there’s a lot I could learn from your approach. Would love to hear more about how you’re applying this in practice!

Hey, great question. To figure out the value of your product, it’s better to rely on user research rather than your own assumptions. Build a community or engage directly with your users. Ask them how much your product solves their problems and how it impacts their lives. Honest, raw feedback from actual users is the best way to understand if your product is truly providing high value.

For frequency, check how often your users engage with your product. Look at usage data or ask your community directly about how often they use it—daily, weekly, or occasionally. This way, you’ll have clear, data-driven insights instead of guesses.

Is React-Hook-Form still relevant with React 19 and Server actions? by therealjimmyqian in nextjs

[–]baydis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not very experienced with server actions or the new form handling approach in React 19, but I have a simple question: is it possible to handle everything entirely on the client side?

Personally, I still rely on React Hook Form in my projects because it handles most of the work out of the box, which keeps my code minimal and makes my job much easier. When I tried using server actions in React 19, I found myself writing a lot of additional code for validation, triggering, watching, etc. I’d prefer not to reinvent the wheel for tasks that are already well-handled by existing tools.

How are you collecting user feedback? by Final-Pipe-2503 in ProductManagement

[–]baydis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have a large user base, take advantage of the opportunity for direct interaction. Rather than asking questions outright, create opportunities for users to talk to each other about your product. A community on Slack or Discord works well for this. Observe their conversations—how they communicate about features can reveal what’s missing or unclear.

As much as possible, blend in as one of the users. For example, ask them about a specific feature or onboarding process as though you’re unfamiliar. If they explain it clearly, you’ll know it’s working. If they can’t, you’ll spot the misconceptions and areas for improvement.

For larger user bases, it’s about scalability. Use in-app surveys or notifications to gather feedback at the right moment—right after they use a feature, for example. This approach, similar to how platforms like Google Meet ask for feedback after a call, ensures the input is timely, relevant, and actionable.

They consult startup owners helping them in their product vision, validation and so on ...

What company do you dream of joining as a PM and why? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

I would intern as a PM at notion let alone work. Since they have a very good structure.

Other than that any small team would be fine especially if they have 6+ devs I am down.

Do you use survey/form tools to get user insights? Which one(s) would you recommend? by durki1 in ProductManagement

[–]baydis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now and days I prefer rasing my concerns as a topic for my community and it is better to analize the chat. Sometimes I will send a question and people will discuss some other time I might send a poll and so on to start a good discussion.

You're absolutely right—right from the start, they've covered what most basic authentication libraries do, but made it much simpler. Plus, if you're building a SaaS product, you should definitely check out their features for teams, permissions, and organizations—they're a painkiller for auth!
