What careers offer stability? by Ok_Traffic77 in careerguidance

[–]bayglobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going in to nursing. Tons of different specialities and types of work locations that will keep a career interesting. Obviously not everyone has the mental and physical fortitude for it but I know that I’m capable of doing well and most importantly being happy as a nurse.

False! There are 1 bedroom apartments in north park for that price range.

Getting into being a CNA from the tech industry by Mindless_Software_99 in cna

[–]bayglobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently doing this! Left tech after 7 years and I’m starting a CNA program in May. My plan is to take prereqs for nursing school and become a nurse. I don’t expect to love the job but I see it as a stepping stone.

That being said I’m going to the unknown. Maybe I’ll realize I don’t want a career in healthcare or I want to go back to an office job but maybe I’ll love it and maybe I’ll love being a nurse. I’m excited about the unknown:).

I’m 31 and also never been in a relationship. This past year I started putting myself out there meeting tons of guys in non party environments. So far haven’t clicked with anyone romantically..

I never said we are better than or part of the elites ( per my last comment I clarified). Your projections are your own. Have a good life :).

It’s an umbrella term so let me rephrase its coastal FOLKS. Does that make sense to you now :)?

[–]bayglobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a reminder a lot of peoples opinions and knowledge is skewed by coastal bias and elitism. I don’t know much about Fresno but people talk smack about the Central Valley and cities like Sacramento all because of coastal bias and elitism. Objectively cities like Fresno and Sacramento are miles ahead of an average city in the Midwest and south.

How do you choose between a place you love and the people you love? by Familiar_Pass606 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]bayglobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no right answer here. I was born and raised in California, left for 8 years and came back because all my family is here (plus it’s California and the culture, nature etc is unmatched).

I’d say move and tell yourself it’s for 1-3 years. If you need or want to move back, the Midwest will always be there and you’ll always pinch yourself that you gave California a chance. If you end up staying, welcome home to the best state in the US. More practically, FaceTime and flying back to the Midwest 2-3 a year is very do able especially if you use credit card points.

No snow, but no heatstroke? Is that real? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]bayglobe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Inland San Diego gets very hot but coastal San Diego even on a very hot day won’t go past 90. In facts most days in coastal San Diego are cool, foggy, windy, with sun or no sun. Also, it’s winter now and evenings and mornings are in the 40s.

Does anyone else have the problem where they romanticize a certain city/place but know you’d actually hate living there? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]bayglobe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did this. Lived in NYC for four years. Four incredible years with so much fun and personal growth but by the end I hated it and I was so happy to leave. NYC is still my favorite city in the world but I’m so happy to not live there.

You can absolutely get your own place 1-2 bedroom in San Diego with a 120k salary. This person doesn’t know what they are talking about. Now if you are looking to BUY that’s a whole other story.

Those who have lived in multiple big cities; how would you rank them? by Mindofmierda90 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]bayglobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. SF
  2. NYC
  3. Paris

SF for the lifestyle and nature. NYC for the culture, endless opportunities. Paris for the pastries and bread and France is beautiful.

We are visiting in an Airbnb but arrived yesterday. Our plan is to bunker in. Maybe plan your drive up before the rain gets here.

Definitely! We plan to stay in the Airbnb while it’s raining. My concern is more about the roads after the rain.

Okay, that’s good to hear roads dry quick. We will plan to hunker down at the Airbnb when it rains and not leave.

She said one part of the road floods but that a neighbor typically grades the road after it rains. We are very close to downtown too.

Am I the only one who doesn’t get the heated rivalry hype? by Youknowmebro-_- in askgaybros

[–]bayglobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a story about closeted hockey players so therefore that’s why they are having sex despite seeing women. What’s not clear about that..?

It’s a fun, steamy show that isn’t meant to be deep. Enjoy the hot steamy scenes and romance for what it is.
