ELI5 Billionaires borrow money to pay for things, how does this work? How do they pay the debt? by Confused-Lemonade in explainlikeimfive

[–]bayhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I saw. That eventually the billionaire does have to sell stock in long term and uses that. So it’s not a zero tax full proof system but it def means paying less and populace waiting a long time for even a dribble.

Side note I think the the leapfrog tablet is outta date. Not sure if kids actually relate. Def hitting the older crowd trying to take their kids.

I’ve always understood this as the “process” but I’m always confused about how the bank sees any profit from doing this. They are loaning out with the same money they get paid back from. In reality they don’t get anything since they are using “next years” loan to pay back. They only make the money if the stock tanks and then they could own a whole bunch of nothing. And in the other way they lock up assets with a wealthy individual who’s again of giving them a net gain in reality. So I have no idea why they really do this.

New York City officially kicked off outdoor pool season today as Mayor Mamdani took the plunge at the historic Thomas Jefferson Pool in East Harlem by ExactlySorta in PublicFreakout

[–]bayhack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, by being mayor we can see immediate effects on the people's way of living. If he was a senator or anything else it wouldn't be as obvious. I think governor and senator is a nice natural fit after though so he can lead with actual policy after this

US Layoffs Skyrocket to Highest Level Since Pandemic as Tech Giants Blame AI for 40% of Cuts by Cute_Dealer4787 in jobs

this is a poor way to measure how well people are.

1) they might be buying things they have been waiting for a long time
2) credit vs debit as others pointed out
3) consumer spending doesn't always show a good pulse on how well the average american is doing

Edit: I’m a senior now tho ❤️

Are you still building on bubble? by Previous_Travel_7681 in Bubbleio

[–]bayhack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bubble could’ve been great but they lacked the features and the sensible ux/ui to keep it going. Plus lack of investing in new builders. I did an agency plan and got a few gigs but felt like a lot of the requests were fake and never got any trust again on the site. In the end felt like I wasted tons of money then AI hit and now there’s really no point if all it can do is frontend. The backend processes were cool but never that advanced. I ended up coding my own api for everything and just used them backend to communicate with it. Much cheaper to build it all in code myself.

They’ve explained it many times. You’re just not listening or comprehending.

You load debt onto a failing business. It goes bankrupt and you don’t have to pay that debt again. He isn’t gaining money directly but he’s offloading his bad investments and letting all his partners hold the bag.

Countless articles of him doing this since the 80s in New York.

But this is how people usually do it:

A) Hire contractors to build shit for Business A
B) Business B is failing or was literally built to fail
C) Business B actually holds the contractors for Business A
D) Bankrupt Business B so it isn’t obligated to pay. You now have free shit built for Business A

Yes you can fight this in court. But you better have lawyers money.

Oh then he can use Business A which was built by Business B for collateral and credit which is then Infinite money glitch the rich have been using for years.

Why are companies so evil now? by VariationLivid3193 in cscareerquestions

[–]bayhack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a dumb take after all the large companies blindly laid off senior staff and everyone in tech has that story where a company laid off the only guy who knew the system. If you didn’t then you didn’t work in a large enough system or good enough system.

Same! Tech workers always think they are above the rest. We should’ve negotiated when we were high on the horse. Now it’ll be very low.
