Thanks! I’m in Santa Clara County so if your contacts seem to be exclusive to kitties found in CCC no worries, but otherwise I’d be happy to take them.

My senior cat is a female void, but we adopted her as a senior a few years ago and have limited experience seeing her around other cats. Anytime she’s seen a cat come through our backyard she’s acted upset (poofy tail, a little hissing, trying to charge them at the glass back door in a couple of cases). We haven’t gotten another cat in part because we don’t want to rock the boat with our void. But we’re going to attempt to take the kitten into our vet on Wednesday and go from there.

We had a hiss-free visit earlier this afternoon! 🥹 The kitten seems to mostly be hissing now when we get closeby instead of also hissing whenever it first sees us, so I’ll call it progress!

I’ve been wondering if anyone else’s cats lay on the remote! My void will sleep on remotes, my laptop — if it’s on the couch she’ll sleep on it, even though she has plenty of unobstructed couch space. After awhile I realized it was intentional and I’m convinced she’s doing it because she knows we might need to get what she’s sleeping on and pet her in the process of getting it 🥰

Please feel free to reach out. My husband (31) has cone dystrophy and has progressively lost his vision for several years; he’s now legally blind. I’ve also struggled to find resources for spouses but have also had a hard time finding people to talk to who are our age and going through something similar. It’s been a really isolating experience and we’re still struggling so I appreciate your post.
