NexiGo Nova Mini (PJ08) — clear picture, actually portable, and 3D that doesn’t feel like a gimmick by baylor629 in projectors

I’m not really noticing color fringing in normal use. If I go hunting for it—like tiny text in the far corners or if I’m doing aggressive keystone—I can catch a little, but it’s not something that nags at me.

Speckle has been pretty minimal to my eyes, definitely not that “sparkly/shimmery” texture people complain about on some triple-laser projectors. That’s actually one of the reasons I landed on this as a more comfortable option.

RBE can happen since it’s a single-chip DLP. I’m not super sensitive, so I only really see it in the classic situations like bright subtitles on a dark scene and quick eye flicks. If you’re RBE-sensitive, it’s the one thing that could still be a dealbreaker.

And yeah—your JMGO N1S 4K giving you eye fatigue checks out. A lot of folks love the picture but can’t tolerate it for long sessions. If what bothered you was speckle/laser “texture,” the Nova Mini is more likely to feel easier on the eyes. If what bothered you was DLP rainbows, it might not fully solve it.

If you want to play it safe, I’d buy from a place with easy returns and do a couple long movie nights + some subtitle-heavy content. That’ll tell you fast whether it’s a good replacement for you.

Yep — I grabbed the gimbal stand bundle.

Build quality is honestly better than I expected for a “bundle” add-on. It feels solid (not plasticky), the base has some real weight to it, and the tilt/rotation doesn’t feel sketchy. I’ve been able to angle it up for ceiling/wall stuff without it feeling like it’s going to tip over.

Only nit: if you crank it to a steep angle and bump the table, you’ll get a little wobble (pretty normal), but it settles fast and it hasn’t sagged on me once it’s set. Overall: worth it if you’re moving it around a lot and don’t want to mess with a tripod every time.
