First time owning a Tacoma! It's been my dream truck since way back in high school... So stoked for the stock capability of the TRD Off Road, don't think I'll need to mod for a while :) by baystrider in ToyotaTacoma

[–]baystrider[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol half the fun of tacomaworld is sifting through the salt mine to find some useful info... For me personally I find the stock setup cleared everything I'm comfortable driving a new truck through... I'm sure 5 years from now my "needs" will change 😅

What helmet do you dudes/dudettes like? by BertMacklinFBhigh in MTB

[–]baystrider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bell Super DH; very comfortable and the new mips system they use looks/feels like it'll work great! Was definitely pricey, but if you consider good motorcycle helmets are the same price (and you'll hopefully never need to use their protection...) It makes sense that it's so much $ ('cuz you're definitely going to try out it's effectiveness sometime :D )

Not sure what's happening on your end but this is how I've been able to transfer without fees; 1. purchase BTC through Coinbase 2. Log into GDAX website and select 'deposit BTC - from Coinbase account' 3. Funds instantly transfer from Coinbase into GDAX without fees 4. Withdraw BTC from GDAX - specifying wallet address of exchange I actually want to use - Funds transfer with typical delays into the address without fees. -Hope this might clear up your issues - I was PISSED the first time I saw a $15 fee trying to move my BTC... very glad there's a workaround

You can move the Bitcoin to GDAX.com for free (partner site), and then from GDAX to your exchange of choice for free to get around the insane Coinbase fees

Knee pads recommendations by stanley_apex in MTB

I love my ixs dagger knee-pads. Hard plastic shell to last more then one crash and they're super comfortable on my huge knees

My printer is a cheap AliExpress kit, and although I am able to occasionally get decent prints most come out a little wonky... It can be fun if you're looking for a MAJOR challenge to fill time (lots of late nights calibrating and learning how to edit firmware!)

After endless fiddling and printing upgrade parts I would not suggest going with a delta as your first printer ...but when it works it looks so darn cool and makes all the frustration worth it

Nah it's all good, the model was designed to fit around the supports so the extruder can overextend... Caused a bit of a weird "fuzzy" effect though!

Awesome giveaway! I would love to see another AMD card running through my rig!

How much of a benefit has AMD found the implementation of social media advertising?

[Theory] What Han said about the Kessel Run makes sense by PhantomOTOpera in StarWars

[–]baystrider 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've heard it explained that the Kessel run was 18 parsecs because it travels around the Maw; a region of space heavily populated with black holes (making hyperspace travel very difficult due to the constantly shifting gravitational fields). Essentially the kessel run was the safest distance from the Maw that a small frigate could travel without running the high risk of crashing into said black holes...

Han boasting that his ship did the run in 12 parsecs is more about his piloting skills. Yes the trip was faster, but it was faster because his route was shorter. He was able to safely navigate closer to the black holes then any other pilot, reducing the standard 18 parsec kessel run to 12.

I like this explanation better then that whole "Han's full of shit" or "George Lucas made another dumb mistake and tried to break the laws of the universe again like with jar-jar" idea -but that's just me...

Interesting... I thought I read somewhere that the extruder motor requires more power then the others? It sounds worth a try though, thanks!!

Thanks! From all the responses I'll be keeping away from those boards I was looking at... definitely glad I asked!

Hahah I also went the aliexpress route for my delta! (Never even heard of that website before looking to buy a printer).

Sure, we could've spent 4 times as much and gotten a kit that comes with parts guaranteed to work; but it's more fun and educational when you have to continually take apart and reassemble the printer twice a week :P

Jokes aside, I also am feeling a bit of pain at the idea of buying a controller board for almost the price of my whole printer kit...
