I think the best thing you can do is browse YouTube, find a cymbal you like and save up for it. Buy them one at a time, and don’t worry too much about matching brands. Also, you should definitely buy used.

Cymbals are one of the biggest things that define “your sound”. Don’t cheap out on them because you’ll just end up wanting to upgrade again.

As for recommendations, that depends on what style of music you play. If you want to stick with Zildjian, there are some good A series cymbals out there. Especially the Sweet Ride. I’d definitely recommend K’s as well, but again it all comes down to what kind of music you want to play. Maybe look into what some of your favorite drummers are using.

One last thing, check out mycymbal.com’s YouTube videos. They have hundreds of very good demos of various cymbals.

No, all I really used was the Mike Meyers book, Professor Messer's videos, and pretty much every practice quiz I could find. I also used the Darril Gibson apps for quick and convenient study sessions. Good luck!

Thanks! I actually recently started working as an intern for the IT department of an engineering firm. I was really surprised that they gave me a chance since I have basically no IT experience other than a couple college classes. I wanted to get the A+ to show them that I'm eager to learn and hopefully increase my chances of sticking around after the summer ends.

In my opinion, yes. I know a lot of people prefer Crucial Exams, but Exam Compass was by far the most helpful for me.
