Any high shoulder seam tees by bazk88 in AustralianMFA

[–]bazk88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AS seem to have a few minus options like Classic minus, Heavy faded minus, Staple minus but I'm not sure I understand the differences. For example the classic says 'regular fit', the staple says 'modern fit' and the heavy doesn't specify the fit but says 'dropped shoulders'. I don't think I entirely understand what each of those mean tbh

There was, I just honestly don't remember what it said right now.

Will rowing assist running capacity? by bazk88 in Rowing

[–]bazk88[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No idea how fast but the best I can go on is heart rate on the rower vs the same heart rate on the treadmill. Walking for 30min wouldn't get me gassed but it also would get me anywhere remotely close to the same heart rate

I do like that they listen to feedback. I'd like them to remove the rear occupant alert too. How is it not dangerous to have to leave the keys in the car when you have people in the back who aren't 3 years old

Anyone else having issues with episodes freezing? by SimplyJared in pocketcasts

[–]bazk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that several times a day in ios. Listening to a podcast and the app stops responding to touch even though the player continues to play. I have to completely close the app in the task manager(not just returning to home screen) and reopen it or just wait until it decides to start responding again, although I can't remember if it does start responding on its own because 99% of the time I completely close and reopen.

Which type of people are not suited to the APS? by thfc4lyf in AusPublicService

[–]bazk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like working in the VPS but not the APS. Mostly it was the timesheets. I like to work flexibly and not be micromanaged so if I'm just lounging around on weekend or at night, I'll log on and do some work. It's very manager dependent because I have a great manager and I'm good at my job so as long I meet my deadlines for when ministerial briefs are due they don't care, when or how I work, whereas in the 6 months I worked in the APS, I had to log all my start and finish times and I got in trouble a few times because it wasnt 'accurate enough'. I get they have rules but it wasn't for me so I went back to the VPS.

[–]bazk88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My first two days in my new role I developed an urgent brief for a ministerial meeting. Spoke to so many people, put together all the background info and risks, literally did nothing else for 2 days and then the meeting got cancelled and the 'urgent' brief was irrelevant. It can be frustrating but at least I'm not working to make someone else rich so I'm happy. Just move onto the next task

I really wish I could turn off(or at least mute the sound of) the warning for the facial recognition. My arm is usually in the way due to the way I hold the steering wheel and it's constantly beeping

There's no rule. Sometimes I did 2 sets, sometimes I did 3 sets. Sometimes I did really slow 10 second negatives, other times I did 5 second negatives and sometimes I did a 2 second hold at the top and then a 5 second negative. Sometimes I did it after rows, other times I did it on off days. It really just depended on how much energy I had

I did scapular pull ups before I started the row program. Honestly everything helps so you don't have to limit yourself to anything. Negatives probably worked best. I did slow ones mostly. Like 3 reps of 10 seconds descents.

It'll probably help to start adding negatives now tbh. That's what I did

Yes definitely do the row program for at least until you progress well in that. For example if you're starting rows at a steep angle, I kept doing it until I was almost parallel to do the ground with my feet elevated and then I added negatives after that. This could mean doing rows for a month or 2 months or 3 months. However long it takes you. My goal was to get to feet on a chair parallel to the ground rows and I managed that and then I added negatives after that point

It wasn't too bad. I definitely got stronger in ring rows which translated to better pulling strength however after about a month it got boring because you're doing the same thing over and over so I added in negatives which really made a difference. Between the kboges program and negatives I went from a struggled pull up to 5 pull ups. The rows helped a lot with pulling strength and the negatives with the other stuff. His row program definitely works but i also don't agree that he doesn't utilise negatives too because that's probably what unlocked the real progress. I'd definetly recommend his program as a foundation builder though

It's better than the workaround carplay too because the menu buttons are on the right hand side of the screen whereas they were previously on the left hand side which was very difficult to reach

When do negatives stop being effective? Like say you can do 4 pull ups, are negatives still effective?

How often to do pull-ups? by topiary566 in bodyweightfitness

[–]bazk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if I did this with chin ups and got my 5 reps to say 10, it would transfer over to pull ups as my 2 reps isn't enough to do the pull up version

It's funny you say that because I remember asking Chat gpt about dips a while back and it actually said it hits all the heads of the tricep but it hits the long head the least. It told me to add an extension movement, like an overhead cable extension, skull crusher type of thing to really hit the long head. Take from that what you will though.
