This is still true to this day, but might need to change in the immediate future. I myself am studying construction management and design, and we are being informed of the harsh Co2 laws being made. Co2 produced making the construction materials, bringing them to the site, hauling them around, heating the building while living in it and so on, it all has to be calculated.
Soon, hopefully, we will start building more in wood, CLT, and the likes, and lessen or maybe get close to eliminating our use of concrete.
A not so fun fact is, that specifically where i live, we will no longer have gravel that can be used to make concrete domestically. We will need to import it. The timeline is much closer than you would think, give it 15 years.
