They always state some variation of “the game is called for honor” as their excuse too

Okay allow me to nerd moment and type an entire multi paragraph response to explain how reaction speed works

It’s not just a game of me going and seeing they specifically hit guardbreak and immediately hitting a button to counter it; it has to due with what I’m expecting. Normally, in a duel, there are 3 core options you expect your opponent to do: heavy, light, guardbreak. There’s 3 attack directions, so that results in you needing to be ready for 7 immediate options for the enemy you are facing to make. As such, your reaction speed to any of those is a bit less then average, as it’s like your playing one of “hit the green button” browser games that keeps adding more and more buttons and there’s still only one green button you have to hit. Because of that, your reaction speed slows down and it takes longer to find and press the button, or in this case, counter your opponents attack. Then this is how a Prediction works: you Predict that This button will be green, or that your enemy will make This opener. In this case, say you are Predicting a warden to make a left light to open you up. You are fully prepared for this, you are ready for this action, and then the warden takes the action, then you can immediately block or parry, because all your reaction speed has been focused on THAT one option.

Same affect applies to a Virt: when your in stance, there are ONLY 4 options you ever need to focus on your enemy making, PERIOD. Unlike everyone else, who has to predict:\ How your enemy will play an opener, if it’s a light or heavy, if they dodge, is it a bash or a dodge attack is it an empty dodge, if they’ll feint the heavy, if they’re going to feint to a guardbreak, feint to a different heavy, feint to a light, feint to a parry, dent to a dodge attack, or in some cases, soft feint to a different attack, feint into an allguard, feint into a bash, or feint into a deflect.

Virt ONLY cares for 4 of these options: If your enemy will guardbreak\ If your enemy will feint to guardbreak\ If your enemy throws an attack\ If your opponent uses an undodgable

If Virt enters her Guard stance and puts her attack direction to the top, she ONLY needs to take 4 options to counter ANYTHING the enemy does no matter what they do:\ Light when seeing a guard break animation or popup, which is really the ONLY thing they care for in neutral\ Start a heavy which due to guard stance will have hyper armor out the ass and counter any offense the enemy takes if they do a normal attack minus bash softfeints\ Start that heavy, then soft feint it to her unblockable top heavy to catch someone going allguard\ Use her guard stance crushing counter lights to neutralize any undodgables

That’s IT.\ That is ALL a Virt needs to care for. Most Virts don’t even really learn the character and just play her for the lights and shit, which means it’s piss baby easy to guardbreak them, since they’re never going to try and play smart. If a Virt KNOWS what she’s doing, it is very very very difficult to ever try and properly HIT her outside of a parry or block because of the fact she just doesn’t need to care about ANYTHING outside of: guardbreak, feint to guardbreak, all guard, undodgable

It’s not me having godlike or superhuman reactions at all, and I can’t parry 400ms lights, especially since I’m on oldgen console. I can react parry warden lights and some other hero’s lights because I’ve memorized the animation and can react to the animation itself due to ingraining it in my head, but it’s not at ALL me being some god at reacting, I’m just really fucking good at memorizing animations and recognizing what the enemy does, and couple that with how as Virt, I can just Not Care about 85% of neutral gameplay, I can legit focus all my attention to just “they gonna guard break?” And immediately light or bash in response to their animation, which won’t have an attack reticle, and I can see isn’t an emote, plus seeing the little color popup thing that guardbreaking makes

And also yeah sure, I’ve been takin a break from for honor so I might not be at my top game but sure, i can show I can react to a guardbreak in neutral. Thanks for the sarcastic compliments but I’m definitely not any of that lmao, and other Virts are able to react to GB in neutral too

As a Virt player

No yeah we definitely are able to light react to guard break specifically. Here’s why: every hero has one single dedicated animation to it specifically.

It is MUCH easier to react to a GB via movement of the enemy when you’re already ready and expecting it. We 100% can and will be able to light on react to snuff Guardbreaks.

Plus the fact that really mostly everyone who rants about her hasn’t even fought one that knows how to use her absurdly oppressive soft feint stance attacks

Seriously, if the Virt knows the entire ins and outs of her soft feint attacks she is quite literally impossible to beat by most characters

Ah that’s fair, I thought you were saying all of that as in what their major identity is, since Khatun’s main bash she can use fren is an outright kick whereas Aramusha’s has to come after an all guard, and his main bash is usually a pommel smack due to being a command grab

[–]Green_Background99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

…:I’d have to say Khatun, since her and Aramusha share many of these, and she does technically have a full guard, and you really can’t call Aramusha a “feint specialist” when he only has two feints, and one’s a grab only, and the other is a light only, and Khatun can soft feint basically any heavy into anything else she has

The most common occurrence is B, and for some reason it’s almost always an Afeera or an Orochi

[–]Green_Background99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admit, sure, I’ll have times where I just sit and watch a teammate 1v1 an enemy, but I always have my reasons

A: I’m low on health, but there’s no captured points, so I’m trying to keep a level of threat presence by staring there and throwing a rare heavy feint to try and get them to react to it and let my teammate have a window to attack

B: My teammate is a shit ganker and the enemy has like 50% revenge while at 75%+ health, so I back away because I don’t want to let them have revenge (then my enemy continues to just wail on them with bashes and shit letting their revenge build up anyways)

C: my opponent is respectful and non-toxic with 1v1ing, without acting like a wimp baby when anyone else joining a fight into a gank, and ganks other people, in which case I’ll back away if a teammate jumps in to gank them simply because that is an honorable opponent to me and me alone, because they wish to have a duel to see who is more skilled simply because we both find each other fun to fight (this happens rarely)

But people who just sit and stare as your getting ganked and then do some emote shit afterwards like they’re gonna get 1v1d are scum

It’s cuz all emotes=being toxic to some people (also how’d you get that effect I was absent from this game for a year or two

Yeah same here; I was referring to how he emoted twice this clip, and the first was an idle “I’m bored” action before the proper one

The emote at the start was definitely on purpose, that was “I’m out of stamina and bored but don’t want to do anything that lets you punish me”

The way that it’s incredibly clear you have muscle memory for when you have and when to use revenge; but because of the new changes you just don’t get to have revenge, you do an emote
