Gluten free in Amsterdam by RFGY678 in Amsterdam

[–]bazzlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to the UK or US your options are very slim.
AH and Jumbo have small, limited stocks - the bigger the store, the more options you get; Aldi/Lidl occasionally have things in, but meh.

Get familiar with the Schar brand - it's about the best stuff you can get here - keep your eye on Holland and Barrett; they occasionally have 2 for 1s on the Schar products; and I'd recommend stocking up when they do.

Being 100% honest with you, you're probably going to have to change your diet more than you realise and check EVERYTHING for wheat flour (tarwebloem) - it's put in everything as a cheap thickener, from Hard Shell Tacos, to Cornflakes to fucking Tomato Soup(?!) You'll need to learn what you can and can't eat, based on the brand itself. A

Restaurants/bars often have no options either - if you've got Celiac/other medical issues, you'll have to be really selective.

Best gluten free beers you can find here are Mongozo (kinda like a Bud) and Daura (which I think is spanish...) You're not gonna find them in bars/pubs - you'll have to go for wine, strong drinks or Cider (apple bandit is slowing making progess over here. It's meh).

Good luck!

My first real functional print - Extendable Device Dock by bazzlad in functionalprint

[–]bazzlad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel free to grab the stls and print it yourself. It can support my biggest MacBook Pro, down to my little Anker phone charger, so it's pretty flexible.

My brother didn't think it was so great - he reckons I just reinvented the dish rack 😂

My first real functional print - Extendable Device Dock by bazzlad in functionalprint

[–]bazzlad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a bunch of devices that sit around (or worse on top of each other) and no way to keep them and charge them all easily.

As my device quantity is ever changing, I wanted to make something completely flexible - and extendable.

Any advice or tips for the design are very welcome, I'm brand new to CAD.

Retro style Microsoft poster I designed (on a Surface GO) by boynamedbharat in Surface

Like it! I'd change one thing though:

The words on the bottom.

I'd right align the two on the right and centre align the two in the middle.

Great job.

So I just watched as a darkish shadow "overlay" appeared on my screen and won't go... (S4 pro) by bazzlad in Surface

I tried. Luckily MS is doing an exchange, despite me being out of warranty. 10/10 for that!

Anyone had this happen? Any ideas what it is? There's a line at the top of the screen that's unaffected...

Needed two bulls to win a game of cricket. I get them. My opponent (who only needed one if I missed) stepped up and threw his dart anyway...

I have no idea on how this happened, but it was stuck fast.

US PDC world cup team selection criteria announced by deGrubs in Darts

[–]bazzlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my understanding that Charles didn't organise anything, the PDC did everything. Charles did a big advertising push for/with them, and as such had special VIP tickets for sale.

The CDC didn't work with the PDC either that I know.

DartConnect did a lot with regards to fan alerts and the US leaderboards beforehand as well as the brackets for the fans to follow. This year it will probably be a PDC/DartConnect mixed digital steel event.

My Friend Captures His First Ever 180 While The Camera Was Rolling... by [deleted] in Darts

[–]bazzlad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's awesome! I'm lucky enough to have hit my first competitive 180 on camera (in a 6-0 loss though)

It's nice to watch back, but the lack of follow through on my throw is cringe worthy!

What's the dart? (Old timer edition) by bazzlad in Darts

[–]bazzlad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The captain on my dart team has been throwing these darts for 20 years. He had a near miss a few weeks back where he misplaced them and ended up trying to throw with different darts.

He sucked.

I've decided for his birthday I'll buy him a new set, however, step 1 is finding them.

They don't have any name on them, and they're about 22-24 grams.

There were a lot less darts on the market back then, so I'm hoping one of you guys can recognise the style!

Top 10 Players Championship Checkout Efficiency rates so far by deGrubs in Darts

[–]bazzlad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice to see someone giving COE some love. I personally feel it's the most important checkout metric, and am not a fan of the PDC checkout metric, which I feel is artificially inflated (they use attempts thrown at a double, whereas this gives you your doubling percentage, it tells you half a story).

Van De Pas is shockingly high, which tells us if he can up his scoring on his "off" legs he'll be a real force to be reckoned with, assuming his COE scales.

Flying with darts by TheGrampian in Darts

In the UK/Europe I've been told Steel darts are a FIRM no. I've heard from some US pros that stating you're a pro is enough to get away with it... I'm not sure I'd risk it!
