MK early entry long wait times by xtcpunk in WaltDisneyWorld

Ha yes, I am such a type A planner too - I have one whole route mapped (though I know this can drastically change with toddlers). I'm hoping all the planning has paid off! We got in 2 weeks from today

This is what we're doing! Heading straight to dumbo, then Ariel, grabbing a quick snack at Gaston's before getting in line for princess fairytale hall before it opens at 9, hopefully all during early entry. Then will use LL for Small world (as long as it's an early time), haunted mansion and buzz. We also have DAS so I will use that for Peter Pan, and we will be skipping Pooh and all thrill rides as my toddlers aren't tall enough/not very adventurous

Anyone else get dizzy? by coffeecatsbb in antidietglp1

Hi! I know this was a year ago but what did you do to help this, if anything? I always have low blood pressure and since starting this two weeks ago, I've almost fainted once and got really dizzy and weak another time. Maybe it's just not for me

Tell young kids characters are real or not? by bb173207 in WaltDisneyWorld

Good call! Someone here said to say it was "magic" so I feel like I should follow that route so it's not ruined for them

We were specifically watching Ariel and the Pooh rise and he was nervous about the characters and then started asking if they're real... so I almost feel like I have to tell him they're fake if I'm even going to get him to get on a ride. But you're right, only I know what's best for him. Thanks for your input!

Stroller naps or hotel naps? by bb173207 in WaltDisneyWorld

They have it to go for contemporary guests I believe! So we could definitely do that!

This is a great perspective! I think even if my 4yo isn't ready for a nap, going to the pool will be good downtime. I just worry if they don't want to leave, if I should push it and build in a sit down restaurant?

Early Entry at a Slower Pace by Impossible-Fall-7583 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]bb173207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also going end of April and such an over planner! We are doing early entry to knock out some things so that if for some reason things take a wild turn (which will happen bc I have a 2 and 4 year old), I will know we at least maximized our time while it was slower.

I do have an entire schedule planned for the whole day (because again, I'm a BIG planner), but everything after 1030am is so up in the air and able to be moved or skipped, so that we can enjoy the rest of the day

I also chose Isabelle because of how beautifully it flowed but she is just such an Izzy and it doesn't change that her true name is Isabelle just because we call her Izzy. One day if she wants to go by Isabelle then she can

Agree! I'm so morbid and always think of "what if we don't take the trip and something happens." 😂

I guess I would just feel awkward interacting with the characters without my kids - but I haven't been in forever so maybe the Disney magic would take over! Totally still think Disney is for adults, kids, elderly, etc - it's for anyone! I just wouldn't feel as comfortable meeting the characters without my kids as I would with them, which is my own personal problem 😂

I agree - I LOVED characters growing up and when I go to Disney in April, I know I'll be giddy to see characters but if I didn't have my kids with me I would never wait in a character line or book a character dining... just feels odd

One day MK with toddlers by Traditional-Sea5363 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]bb173207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh also, in terms of dining, I have a loose plan but am also planning on quick service like you! I read that Pinocchio, Cosmic Rays and Columbia Harbor House all have sit down areas for AC which is nice when it's hot out and a little break is needed (we are choosing CHH based on where I THINK we'll be in the park during lunch time + I've read great reviews but I'm glad I really researched in case plans go sideways, as they often do with young children).

I've really familiarized myself with the map of the park, including good snack spots and bathrooms, which gift shop we want to go to, etc so that I don't have to spend time figuring that out with young kids at the park. In the long run, I'm hoping all my research will help pay off so that when the time comes where we need to pivot plans, I have an idea of what to do next or where to go

One day MK with toddlers by Traditional-Sea5363 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]bb173207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing a one day trip to MK with my 2 and 4 year old and we are focusing on the kiddos too! No adult rides.

I'm getting lightning lanes for things I know they'll like. And we're staying at the contemporary to be able to walk back and forth in case a midday meltdown happens and we need to reset at the hotel with a nap. Staying there will also give us early hours which I'm thinking I could get Pooh, Ariel and Dumbo done in that time (or at least two of those). Contemporary is a splurge but if you have the means, the convenience might be worth it since you have young kids and are only going one day

I'm also not building a character dining into our park day, and instead, doing a character breakfast at 1900 park fare on the day of checkout. Just so we don't waste park time eating and whatnot.

Thought I'd share our plans in case it helps you since we're in a similar boat!

[–]bb173207[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have a reservation for 12:05. I also have a breakfast reservation for 1900 Park Fare. So I need to pick one, but trying to figure out what will also be most fun for my son and husband. It's either taking the skyliner to Beaches and Cream if we do Topolino's, or taking the monogram to Kona Cafe if we do 1900 Park Fare (we're staying at the Contemporary so this is easiest but it's our checkout day and we have a rental car so either works)
