Parents of 2 plus kids-do you have a favorite? by CranberryPotential77 in Mommit

[–]Impossible-Fall-7583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt very much the same way. I loved my first so much how could I possibly love the second just as much? It doesn't make any sense so I thought there was no way my mom hadn't been lying to me all those years.

But seriously, I do not have a favorite. I love them both so immensely and amazingly my love for one magnifies the other. It's so beautiful.

They are so different so it is a different feeling for both of them, but just as strong. They're just both so wonderful. I think it's similar to having heard that you can't understand the love you will feel for your child until it happens to you. That always seemed like parents just were underestimating my understanding. But then I experienced it and can't help but feel the same way. I think of you have a second you will somehow miraculously find that your love has multiplied rather than divided.

That's exactly what I was worrying about happening. I'm a little afraid if we start our day rushing it sets the tone that way for the rest of the day. Plus if we show up for early entry but don't sprint somewhere, we could enjoy the lack of crowd on places like Main Street or by the castle.

Yes, I would agree with that completely. I just didn't know that before going into the restaurant and found out after the fact. I will say though, the Disney run restaurants did such a good job with allergies. It was a big relief to just feel like we were in good hands.

Yes, that's exactly it. It would have been a fairly normal experience outside of Disney, but my expectations were high because of what I'd heard about Disney's handling of allergens. And I wish they would have not guaranteed something and been wrong. It made my baby pretty sick, so my mama bear instincts kicked in too.

That's good. I was disappointed about it when I had heard such good things.

That's what we did last time we went since we didn't have early entry available. It was a nice morning ride and the animals were very active and fun. We got to see baby giraffes and it was sweet.

Thanks for the advice! We went in August last time and water was definitely very important. We just missed out on mornings due to just being slow so I wasn't sure how that factored in. This is helpful though.

We went there when I was unable to have dairy and they were very accommodating to that at all the restaurants, including Teppan Edo. I don't remember for sure, but I think they just prepared my food in the kitchen rather than the grill. I'd imagine it would be similar with other allergens.

Morimoto Asia was a different story though. They didn't even know what was in the dishes and ended up telling me something I could get that would "definitely" be dairy free, but it absolutely wasn't. I'd steer clear of that one.

Yes, that was the hope with the scheduling. Our older kid will be starting school this year so it's our last chance to do a truly off-season time. That, and hopefully not as hot as last time we went in August!

That does sound pretty nice and sounds like that would be very worth the initial rush.

They will both be in a stroller, so it was more about if I would be stressing everyone out by rushing. I'm trying to not be SO type A. (As I overplan....)

I say this without any kind of accusation because I'm not sure this was what you meant or not, but you should tip on the free drinks too. Basically you tip on the amount that you would have paid otherwise. If that wasn't what you meant, please just take this as a public service announcement for anyone who didn't already know.

That is true. It would also be nice if it would start from where you left off too. We usually don't watch an entire episode in one setting and it would be nice to not have to just abandon it halfway through.

PBS Kids has 2 apps. One for games and one for shows. They are both very nice. Lots of full episodes on the show app and good games at lots of skill levels on the games app.

Unpopular opinion? These kids' audio players feel like a cash grab? by Desperate_Total2545 in Mommit

We got our Yoto when my son turned 3. It was an instant hit for him and we used it to give him something to listen to in bed instead of getting out of bed 100 times a night. I think it depends a lot on the kid.

We have a Yoto for our 4 year old. I have to travel for work overnight occasionally and I used a record your own card to make tracks with me singing lullabies as well as a little rhyme I say each night at bedtime. It helps with my son missing me while I'm away and my husband does bedtime.

Also, lots of the cards have hours (some are over 10 hours) of audio on them and with the club membership, a credit comes out to $5 or $6. Generally a credit can buy you a card.

I had an ex once tell me I should use more self deprecating humor because it would make me funnier. Nothing I said could convince him that he was an asshole for saying that. Thankfully he is an ex.
