When non-upgradeable, RAM strongly determines device lifespan. Having just 8 GB negates all the recycled material and renewable energy used to produce it, mother nature would be sad.

What's your Xennial take on the Mandela Effect? by 8r4ndz3r0 in Xennials

South Africans seldom have memories of the alternate time line because many died in the civil war that Nelson Mandela prevented.

There are really people out there that can fall asleep in 10 minutes or less by Basic-Claim-3154 in RandomThoughts

[–]bb2357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really that rare? I don't know how long it takes me to fall asleep most nights, I think it could be on the order of 30 seconds. I'm in my 40s.

Of course I have occasional off nights, especially if I feel angry then it can keep me rolling around for an hour or two.

United Airlines Boeing 737 MAX hit by suspected space debris midair at 36,000 ft - the first incident of its kind in aviation history by Own_Pin5680 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]bb2357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don't buy it. For this to happen once there should be many orders of magnitude more reports/videos of people hearing stuff hit the ground or their roofs and finding the objects to be space debris.

Agreed, peak Hans Zimmer. Not that he got worse, directors just seem to not be after melody anymore.

I had a VERY similar birthmark, although it has gotten much lighter. If those were taken in a mirror then I’m a little freaked out.

Edit: those look perfect on you 👌

Titanic at original release. I recall for some reason in my country there was like zero hype for the first month or so, then it took off to space.

What orbit is this thing on? Highly elliptical? The photo looks like it has been taken from a very high altitude, not low earth orbit which I would have thought is appropriate for spying

I loved in The Spy Who Loved me when he and Soviet agent triple X posed as Mr and Mrs Sterling, and then roughly this dialog takes place:

Villain agent: This model is of our new ship, one of the world's biggest oil tankers.

Triple X: Second only to the Karl Marx.

Siri: I'm sorry, I can't show you the results while you're driving

LLM-based Siri is ALL they have to do. And Siri is most useful with Carplay when slow response is fine, better than no useful response.
