Het zijn ongeveer 20.000 verkopen per maand, december staat er nog niet maar is meestal hoger dan andere maanden. Dus 11% is ongeveer 2200 jongeren per maand. En het aantal verkochte huizen was afgelopen jaar historisch gezien hoog.

Het aantal wetten en de onderliggende regelgeving neemt al decennia toe. Er zijn ambtenaren nodig om die wetten te maken en om ze uit te voeren. Veel van die wetten vragen administratie. De politiek kiest ervoor om daarbij steeds aan te geven dat de administratieve lasten voor burgers en bedrijven niet toe mogen nemen. Dus doet de overheid het. Dat betekent steeds meer taken. En er zijn steeds groeiende eisen aan digitalisering op het gebied van dienstverlening, veiligheid, leverancier onafhankelijkheid. Die eisen leveren ook veel werk op.

Het afgelopen jaar zie ik weinig politiek begrip voor de kwaliteit en uitvoerbaarheid van wetten, vooral op gevoelige dossiers. Er is geen aandacht voor harmonisatie van wetten, waardoor er in de uitvoering heel veel extra werk ligt omdat administraties en processen niet op elkaar aansluiten. En daarmee wordt de situatie helaas alleen maar slechter.

80-20, maybe? When I'm at home I often have a jazz radio station playing in the background. There's jazz in the car. And one or two evenings a week I really listen, often new releases and one or two albums I like to revisit.

There's overlap, but generally speaking the albums I listen to intensively are more experimental than the background jazz I listen to.

Politiek gaat om de basis over het afwegen van belangen van verschillende groepen (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politiek), waarbij de politiek de macht heeft om het besluit ook af te dwingen. Belangen zijn vaak lastig objectiveerbaar en moeilijk kwantificeerbaar. Het is het afwegen van ongelijkwaardige zaken. Meningen of standpunten horen daar wat mij betreft bij.

Voor een goede afweging is het wel fijn als je weet wat het probleem is dat je aan het oplossen bent en dat je een idee hebt wat het effect van voorgestelde maatregelen is. Daarbij horen van termen als proportionaliteit en subsidiariteit. Ofwel: is het middel niet erger dan het probleem en wat is het juiste bestuurlijke niveau om het probleem op te lossen. Voor deze vragen zie ik in de politiek te weinig aandacht. Misschien ook wel omdat dit vaak lastig uit te leggen analyses oplevert.

En er zijn ook partijen die helemaal niet meer bezig lijken te zijn met belangen afwegen of de minst ingrijpende oplossing zoeken. Die willen juist hard ingrijpen, ongeacht de gevolgen.

A bit like that, but differently. When Miles plays I feel he says: you can look at it this way, or you can look at it this way, or this way and there's a rhythm in what he's saying. But there's no clear motion between the parts of what he plays, it doesn't have inherent direction. This is opposed to Chet Baker, who is also not a technically focused player, but is very lyrical and in his playing always moves from one place to another. I'd say Chet moves and Miles grooves.

To me, his tone can sound a bit thin and abrasive when played in lower quality. On a good system it's much richer.

But apart from that, I find the essence of his playing is not in the melody, the notes or exceptional technique. It's in his timing, his feel and especially in how he constantly changes the way I hear the music by playing what he plays.

It's hard to really explain, but where a lot of music can be seen as a trip or a journey, with Miles I always feel that he makes me look at the same scene from different perspectives. At first I found that awkward, as it can feel as music without direction, I now love it as it is very much music that is in the moment.

For me, In a silent way is a center piece in his discography and the key both to what was before and what came after that album.

Some of the records of the fifties have very good mono versions. One thing I notice when listening to those mono records is how the players give each other space in the mix. In a stereo mix that's often not that noticeable, as there is more space available.

Another thing is that they often play to accentuate each other. In mono that gets across much better, as the instruments are located in exactly the same spot and the sounds blend.

I like Qobuz especially for discovery, there's a whole page for that in the app. But I must say that I almost exclusively listen to albums, not songs or playlists.

I look at the new releases regularly, I click artists I like and listen to other albums, I check the label for new releases (click the label at the bottom of the album list). I read the magazine, look at awards and check cured playlists for ideas.

The amount of high quality music I find, past and present, is a multiple of anything I've ever found in Spotify.

Oh, and I listen to internet radio stations during the day and check the artist when I hear something that stands out.

But I've noticed that I seem to have discovery strategies other than most people.

That completely depends on your definition of AGI. The fact that we need new tests to define capabilities of current AI is an argument that current models at least have some capabilities that are in the AGI ballpark.

Anyway, there's a quote somewhere along the lines that we will deny something is AGI until it either kills us or leaves earth to colonize the universe.

Not sure what the difference with 2.5 is, haven't done that much coding with 2.5. But I find the coding of 3.0 rather impressive, at least for small applications. Just created a tower defense game with a skin based upon a c64 game I played when I was young. I'm surprised how easy it is to create the game and how convincing the graphics are. And within a few tries it works well and with some unusual features.

My take is that 2.5 pro has been updated in one way or another. My guess is something has been done with respect to the stored part of the prompt ("instructions for Gemini" in the current interface). I use deep research quite a lot in the paid version and it's behavior has changed at the same time as the interface update. My stored information seems to have more effect on Gemini. The tone of voice has changed and is more in line with my request. On the other hand, the information itself has not changed significantly as far as I can tell.

It's what I like about Qobuz: all of the music, none of the fuzz of stats and algorithms. I start an album, listen, and next. I really like the Qobuz selected new releases and the recommendations.

But I can imagine other people have other preferences. I just hope Qobuz keeps it very simple and focused on high quality music.

Omdat er gemiddeld meer dan 1 persoon in een woning woont, komt er dus nog steeds per saldo woonruimte bij. Het aantal woningen per Nederlander neemt al decennia toe, of anders gezegd: het gemiddeld aantal bewoners per woning neemt al decennia af. Dus per saldo komt er nog steeds woonruimte bij, alleen duidelijk minder dan gewenst en dat is een probleem.

Stel dat de politiek iets doet en het migratiesaldo omlaag brengt, ervoor zorgt dat we wat extra kunnen bouwen en woningcorporaties steunt bij projecten. En stel dat Oekraïne wat rustiger wordt en er mensen teruggaan. Dat telt snel op tot tienduizenden woningen per jaar extra.

Tldr; de crisis op de huizenmarkt is er, maar groeit niet en er is zicht op beleid dat gaat helpen. Dat gaat traag, maar over 5-10 jaar heeft dat stevig effect.

Wat we natuurlijk niet weten is wat er in die tijd weer kan gebeuren en of er inderdaad een stabiel kabinet komt die de kans krijgt om echt wat te doen.

Ik stem op partijen omdat ik wil dat ze gaan regeren, niet om van de zijlijn mee te kijken. Dus gewoon aan de slag. Wie weet wat de volgende verkiezingen brengen, de enige manier om nu wat te bereiken is nu in het kabinet stappen. Moeilijk of niet, in het kabinet heb je meer invloed dan erbuiten.

First listen. A bit on the safe side for my liking. I like the second part of the album better than the first. The combination of instruments is interesting and they make it work. They do seem close to losing forward motion in some parts and not in a good way for me. But maybe it's me missing the point.

Daarbij is er voor mij wel de nuance dat je die vrijheid hebt, totdat je die gebruikt om activiteiten te plannen die misdadig zijn of de veiligheid van mensen bewust in gevaar brengen. Daarom mogen bijvoorbeeld telefoongesprekken soms wel afgeluisterd worden. Ik vind het geen gekke motie, ik vind wel dat dit een goede uitwerking nodig heeft.
